| #1 Posted 1 year ago | Reply | Some users have been experiencing problems connecting to the IRC server using the Java chat on the site.
This may be due to the recent server upgrade.
If you are experiencing issues, please leave me a message here, or contact me at;
ARG.IRC@gmail.com
If you send me an e-mail, please provide to me as much information about your internet connection as possible, i believe this is a localised DNS caching issue.
In the meantime i reccomend you download a client such as mIRC or XChat and point that client to thelema.arg-irc.net.
You can also use this:
http://arg-net.org/webirc/irc.cgi
^^^^^MAKE SURE YOU SPECIFY the channel >>>>>> #YGOTAS <<<<<<<<< when connecting!

| #2 Posted 1 year ago | Reply | Hey, Magick, for some reason, when I try to log on to the chatroom through mIRC, it says...
"* Connect retry #1 216.75.2.24 (6667)
-
* Unable to connect to server (Connection refused)"
Why is that? I have never seen it say "Connection refused" before. I keep trying, and it keeps saying the same thing... |

| #3 Posted 1 year ago | Reply | I moved things over to the new server.
the IP address your ISP if giving you for 'irc.arg-irc.net' is incorrect
(216.75.2.24 (6667))
This is not the correct IP address.
please direct your client to connect to:
Thelema.arg-irc.net
instead of irc.arg-irc.net.
This is your ISP not updating its DNS cache in a timely manner. |

| #4 Posted 1 year ago | Reply | | ...Okay.... how do I do that? |
|
|
| #5 Posted 1 year ago | Reply | the easiest way to do it right now, would be to open mirc and just type
/server thelema.arg-irc.net
this way you do not have to change any settings. The normal address should fix itself with time, when your ISP decideds it wants to update its DNS cache |

| #6 Posted 1 year ago | Reply | Java and other client users can follow the same procedure if they have any problems.
the command for all clients is:
/server thelema.arg-irc.net |
|

| #10 Posted 1 year ago | Reply | this is a known but. The only current way around this error is to use a different client. you can go to
