| #34 Posted 1 year ago | Reply | I do believe the version of the song currently used is the movie version:
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=F3xF0thUe9g
It's the only version without a fade-out at the end, unlike the TV theme.
Link to MP3: http://www.sendspace.com/file/x5pkrw
Bear in mind it was ripped from the link above. It's the best quality for this song at the moment, unless LittleKuriboh would post the entire track himself, but I doubt that other than the track, you can get any higher quality. |

| #36 Posted 1 year ago | Reply | I like the Shadow Games, and I find them to be more entertaining than Duel Monsters.
True, there were a few episodes about card games, but not every single episode was about them, so it was nice to have a breath of fresh air from that every once in a while. Even though a high percentage of the games ended with the "bad" person of the episode suffering in some sort of way, each game was a little different from all the others.
Another plus was the character development. I have nothing against the characters from Duel Monsters, but some of them had pretty flat personalities (mainly Tristan and Téa, who were constantly being pushed away from the spotlight), and the first series had a few episodes for all the supporting characters. Miho was an okay character, though I guess I can understand why the staff chose to write her out of the show in the second series.
I think that the best thing about the Shadow Games was Yami. I liked how dark he could be, and he actually was a character who seemed to develop a personality of his own rather than being some alter-ego that Yugi was already acquainted with.
And of course, the theme song is nice too. Can't really complain about that. ^_^ |

| #40 Posted 1 year ago | Reply | In my opinon the first season or "ZERO" season was one of the best. The art is true to the manga and the story line is true to the manga too. Yami is so evil! And as Dan green said " It's alot darker, people tell me in it Yami is ready to kill anybody who messes with the kid<Yugi>..." Well he didnt say exaclty that but it was something like it.
I like the opening song, its the best!
Karumaru omg, when I saw that i was in shock...xD |

Kawaita Sakebi (A Yell of Thirst)
Kono mama, mou sukoshi...arukou, kata o daki (I’ll walk a little more while still like this, hugging my shoulders)
Kieyuku yume o kazoe kareteku nakama o mita (I counted the number of my disappearing dreams, I saw my friends withering away)
Kayoinareta michi ni mayoikomu kono goro (On a road that I’m used to commuting on, I get lost, and at this moment)
Yami ga mou hitori no jibun o tsukuru (Darkness creates another me)
(*)
Kawaita...sakebi ga...kujikesou na mune o tsukisasu (A thirsty shout stabs at my chest that feels discouraged)
Kimi o sasotte sekai o mitai na Come along with me! (I want you to see this world with me, Come along with me!)
Dare ni mo dasenai, kotae ga boku no naka ni aru (The answer that I can’t tell anyone is inside of me)
Kakehiki ga kagi...todoke! fly at higher game (A tactic will reach the key! fly at higher game)
Ikutsu no kanashimi o issho ni koeta darou? (How many sorrows did we overcome together?)
Ki ga sumu made motometa ano hi no bokura ga ita (There were the 'us' who yearned until we were satisfied back then)
Jidai ga meguru nara mata dokoka de aeru ne (If the times circulate, we can meet again somewhere)
Sono toki ga, kuru made, akiramenai (Until when that time comes, I won’t give up)
Sameteku omoi wa doushite mo inamenai kedo (I can’t deny my cooling thoughts no matter what)
Koi ni ochite kawatteku no mo ii ne Come along, Together! (But it’ll be nice if I fall in love and change, Come along, together!)
Aserazu sawagazu aru ga mama de to negau kara (Because I wish to be patient and calm still)
Kokoro ni hana o sakasou just take my heart (It’s like flowers blooming in my heart, just take my heart)
*Guitar Bridge*
He's not afraid of anything...
(Repeat first three lines of *)
Boku o shinjite sakasou just take my heart! tabiji wa tsuzuitekuru (Believe in me and it’ll seem to bloom, just take my heart, and our lives continue on)
It really seems to fit Yuugi and Atemu, doesn't it? |

| #46 Posted 6 months ago, in reply to post #30 by Tatterdemalion | Reply | Japanese anime songs are so confusing. Just read the lyrics of Wild Drive (Best YGO opening btw) they make absolutely no sense.
"I ride on top of the white line oh oh oh"
"we're still tapping on the door quietly"
"the full charged energy doesn't know where to go and is lost just a small touch will make it explode"
Like wtf? |
|
|
| #47 Posted 5 months ago | Reply | Wild Drive is awesome! But I just think the lyrics were translated badly. I think it really sucks for people (including me) who only speak english and can\'t enjoy the un-edited original japanese version of Yu-Gi-Oh. I think you can find the best translation for Kawaita Sakebi at the opening of the season 0 subbed episodes. Here are the lyrics:
Let us keep going... (Kono mama mou sukoshi)
walking arm in arm. (arukou kata o daki)
While counting the disappearing dreams... (Kie yuku yume o kazoe)
exhausted, I\'ve finally found my friends. (karateku nakama o mita)
That road that you're familiar with... (kayoi nareta michi ni)
lately you\'ve been getting lost on. (moyoi komu kono goro)
From the darkness... (yami ga mou hitori no)
another me is created. (jibun o tsukuru)
Dry shouts pierce my broken heart (Kawaitta sakebi ga Kujike sou na mune o tsuki sasu)
I want to see your world. (Kimi mo sasotte sekai o mitai na)
Come along with me... (Come along with me)
The answers no one can find are inside of me. (Dare ni mo dasenai kotae ga boku no naka ni aru)
The key to the tactics... (Kake hiki ga kagi)
...make it! Fly at higher game. (todoke Fly at higher game) |

|
| #50 Posted 4 months ago | Reply | | Kawaita Sakebi- Field of View. I love this song, even if the translation are a bit creepy... Season 0 was the best, Yami was so much better as a cold hearted evil bastard and it wasn't all about card games! The drawing were childish and adorable which gave a much different feeling than the one with card games. And it's even better cause 4kids didn't touch it. |

| #54 Posted 1 month ago | Reply | Um...
The Toei anime kind of sucks. Really.
I mean, if you think the Toei anime is violent compared to "Duel Monsters", either there's something wrong with you or you believe the hype about the manga. A LOT of stuff was changed, and a lot of unnecessary filler was added (the whole arc about the "Four Game Masters" is made-up), and as a result a lot of stuff no longer makes any sort of sense.
Miho also gets a lot of people's goat. In the manga, she was a minor character that Honda had a crush on. She was also... not ditzy or materialistic at all (she was a librarian, IIRC). For reasons I don't quite get, the anime made her a main character. And a shitty one, too.
Also let's not forget that the whole anime looks like some random Korean kid traced over the manga with magic markers and some drug addict colored them in. |
