Heh, whoever thinks SSB is a button masher obviously isn't playing it right, or not playing competitively. Sounds to me like this thread is just fodder for fanboys, really.

oh right and all the other topics about games including the SSB topics arent? i played and finished all modes for every character and unlocked them all in melle and i cant rember it requireing much skill to be honest its not a bad game or anything, i image brawl will be much more chalenging well im hopeing it is i just find games like halo more demanding and requre more skill and i like a game with a story that isn't 2 seconds of cut scene between a fight!

Every thread about any game or show will have the fanboys attacking others, someone else coming to stop it with comparisons that may sound good but aren't then get's attacked then it just starts over again, unless you're on a forum where you all know each other.

You still can't compare Halo with SSB or vice versa because they are totally different types of games.

im not comparing them i no u cant because there completly different games i was just saying why i preffered halo! But I tyed to get back to topic someone came in with another reason why SSB is not a button basher!

how the FUCK does one button mash in a FPS? =S
Crazyhedgehog

The jump button.

Got a point there. How would you button mash through a fps you would lose all your ammo. Button mashing only works in fighing games that only allow you to attack.

#70   Posted 1 year ago, in reply to post #67 by 6ixty4ourReply
exactly, but you can still win if you have a good team. -_-

thats kinda the sad thing, the people who are poor at the game can get matched with people who are good, but at a low level, and rank up through luck.

i think we're talking different types of button mashing.
iwatch2muchanime
#71   Posted 1 year agoReply
WTF? Different types of button mashing? There's only ONE type and that's button mashing, where you press every button on the controller in order to hopefully win a match. There isn't another type.
lazylen
#72   Posted 1 year agoReply
when you button mash, you eventually learn what the buttons do, and from that learn how to play the game. between button mashing and actually being able to play is still button mashing.

#73   Posted 1 year ago, in reply to post #72 by lazylenReply
No, once you even get the slightest hang on what to do, and keep doing it, you're now playing instead of mashing. Even if you're playing poorly.
benjirimm
#74   Posted 1 year agoReply
For the first time i agree with iwatch2muchanime button mashing is completly random button pressing hopeing you come out lucky once you learn the controls and you start hitting buttons you know will do what you want to start to play the game and in no longer counts as button bashing, and there is no way you can button bash as FPS well you could but it just wouldn't work at all,

But on a halo 3 note (like this topic shuld be) cheack this out: http://www.joystiq.com/2007/07/31/the-full-details-on-halo-3s-online-co-op/ more proof of the awsomeness of halo 3, bungie seem to be going all out with this game putting douzens of new features including the new spartan models and here a video of those nice guys at red vs blue showing the new needler :

It's a complete disappointment graphically speaking. This is NOT what the 360 is capable of doing and it can even be easily done in the original Xbox. Gameplay-wise it isn't looking too well either, as it's shaping up to be Halo 2.3 with some balance issues fixed here and some vehicles there.

Honestly after years of waiting you would expect mind blowing graphics above Gears of Wars' level and some kickass game mechanic, you know, kind of like how Halo 2 took out the health bar and only kept the shield and changed the wey you wield weapons.

WTF, Bungie?
What are you talking about? Before you made this thread you should have played the Halo 3 beta AT LEAST

You refer to Halo 3's graphics as being worse than GoW, but did you ever actually look at how many games try the new "grungey, dirty" look? Yeah it looks good, but it's so easy to pull off. Killzone 3 is doing it now too. Now look at Halo 3's, is that dirty AT ALL? No sir. You're in a nice, green, well-lit enviroment, and hell, everything looks great. The explosions are very nice looking as well, and the explosions don't cause pixelated dust to appear. It actually looks like the dirt is flying.

There's a lot of new stuff in Halo 3. Few things off the top of my head:
-Item pickups
-Things are more customizable ie your armor style, new emblems, different colors, a LOT of options in the custom games
-New weapons
-New vehicle
-Third person view with 2 certain weapons
-2 new types of grenades
-4 Player Co-op
-Way better sound effects
-Filesharing
-Film saving
-I believe there is also a flood-infection gametype where you see how long you can survive vs. flood

Personally I think the best part of the ones I listed (I probably missed some FYI) is the filming. This brings new possibilities to Machinima, and also can help improve yourself in Halo, especially by watching yourself or the better players in the game. Not to mention the smacktalking it will bring.

i like this guy he speeks wisdom and its topic related which is hard to find on this one^_^, and Flood-infection game type FTW. The sweep has also have taken the sweep of the sniper so now you have too hit dead on to kill this will show the noobs from the experts and with 3 defferent versions of the packaging its is avalible for people who just want the game and the hard-core halo fans like me my legandary edition has been on order since april as that was the time they started taking them. And with all that in mind id like to say one thing: Kiss my ass metal gear solid!

Yes their is one Metal gear solid for Game cube. MGS:The twin snakes. But if you ever get a PS2 MGS 2: Sons of liberty is probaly even better even though some people don't like being Raiden. I got that game for two dollars at some game store. And replayed it a few times. Mgs 3 is also good get the Substenence or what ever it is called it has more content. Though i never finished it since it got stuck at a cutscene and then i got a Wii. Also i had a problem with MGS 3 and it wouldn't a save on my off brand memory card and i had to buy a new one. But yes you should get the Twin snakes for gamecube.

The first Halo was great. The second, while enjoyable, felt like some kind of cash-in to me. Like Bungie just wanted to get a ton of money off all the fanboys. My enthusiasm for this franchise died with Halo 2.

Also, I know this is page late, but yes, there is an MGS movie being made. And yes, MGS does have a bigger fanbase than Halo. It's been around longer, many people dislike Halo 2, and FPS aren't that popular in places like Japan, where MGS is popular.

Halo 3 will be good.

It won't deserve nearly the amount of attention it will get but it will be good.

You're forgetting XBOX LIVE came out after Halo 1, which gave Halo 2 a whole new purpose. Halo 2 was brought about mainly for the multiplayer, since that's what the game would probably be played as. Hell, a lot of people I play with in Halo 2 have never even finished the campaign. That's why the game isn't so enjoyable for people who don't have xbox live. In Halo 1, they didn't have to worry about all of that, so the time was spent more on making the campaign.

Now in Halo 3, they know exactly what they want to do and how they're going to do it. In Halo 2's campaign they left a lot of holes for the sequel to fill in, especially "finishing the fight." The multiplayer will be absolutely fantastic. I was impressed even by playing the beta.

I'm seriously looking forward to Halo3. Preordered my Helmet long ago.
I played and loved the Beta. It was a lot of fun. I am also looking forward to the One Player.
Halo 3 is about the gameplay, but hey, the graphics are damn beautiful too I think.

I am also looking really forward to SSBB. I love the previous SSB, and can't wait for the new one.

I'm looking forward to an awful lot.... apart from stuff to do with the PS3, but that's mostly Sony's own fault. They've screwed me over one too many times. My PSP didn't even last a year before it stopped playing UMDs. Good thing I only ever really used it to watch Fansubbed anime on the go, off the Memory Stick (which it can still read). Everything Sony does is a single finger salute in my face, so I return one back to them, by avoiding their currently failing machine. I might get the Starwars slimline PSP, to support the company I work at (though I wasn't on that game)at least (And so I can play these games I brought when the thing was still working). Though I do hate working on PSP games..... another reason to avoid that dire company.

Hmmmmmm...a lot of, er, different opinions here. I say: don't bash something until you see it. While the graphics weren't that great in the beta, they will be better in the final version. I myself am a Halo fan and I am looking forward to Halo 3. One of the reasons is Forge. Forge is basically a map editor that you can use while playing a custom. You add in whatever you want (boxes, weapons, vehicles ((except the Elephant)), etc.) and then hop in and play it, as well as save it share it. The possibilities presented by this are endless. We Halo fans over at Podtacular have already come up with some great ideas (mongoose baseball anyone?) and still have countless other situations we still haven't thought up yet. Also for those of you that are confused by mongoose baseball and the Elephant, in Halo 3 you finally get to use the Gravity Hammer and in this one multi-player map called Sandtrap there is a mobile base called the Elephant. (one idea for the Elephant in forge was to fill it with fusion cores and set the re-spawn timer to instantaneous so it goes flying across the map crushing everything)

I can't wait till Halo 3, I love Halo!! I'm also a fan of Red VS Blue as well. Halo 2 was sweet with the graphics and being able to play with two guns instead of just one. I love using the Wraith to blow up the enemies. The Brutes for Halo 3 look like there going to be just as tall as the Hunters are. I don't really care for Multiplayer or online play all the time, I rather prefer the main game so I can beat it and experience all the levels instead of trying to beat people online because there is an unlimited amount of people playing and I don't like dying every 10 seconds. That gets boring after a while.

Unfortunately I've never played the Halo 3 Beta before and I don't really know how to set up Live on the 360 so I've just been playing on my regular Xbox or on Halo PC. Had my dad help me set up the connection with the original but i can't with the 360.
