who remembers zero wing?
Hardcore gamers like littlekoriboh may remember, On the Sega genesis its famous for its butchering of the English language, But it sure was funny

Found it in an Arcade once....
I think it was a multiple game machine....
Also played Megaman Power Battles that day too..... same machine.
The Intro, added for the English localisation of the Genesis version, is all that people remember of it these days.
I believe that was the only cutscene in the entire game... Or any reference to plot at all maybe...
The actual title was a horizontally scrolling space shooter, much like R-Type, Gradius, etc, with the game's unique feature being able to use a tractor beam to hold objects and enemies in front of you as a shield.
And there is Far Worse Engrish out there (seen some awesome Signs someone has for a screen saver).
I recommend the Taito Legends titles, for some of the best, including one title (TL2, X-box one only I believe) that ends with the Princess saying "Thank you for that thing." or something hilariously similar to that....
Another of my favs is more of a typo than Engrish.

| #8 Posted 1 year ago | Reply | | i actually did play it in an arcade once, just so i could say that i played zero wing. i was quite disappointed when i didn't see the intro; it wasn't until later that i found out the intro was only on the genesis version. without the intro, it's just your basic sidescrolling shooter, nothing special about it really. |

Are you serious?
We are talking about the originals for the Genesis right (Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic the Hedgehog 2, etc.)? I, among a lot of people, would strongly disagree. |

When I said there was no End Cutscene, I meant there was no cutscene that ended the glimpse of a story we see in the Opening Scene. Some people might try the game to see if there are any more scenes with Cats, which there are not. There is nothing else about him. |

Yes, that's the whole point. The Infamous Cutscene was added because they felt it would appeal better to those Outside Japan if it DID have a story, thus they produced that Cutscene that even has Named Characters (Cats). But it wasn't a part of the original game, so he doesn't appear anywhere else in the game. They didn't even change the Ending Cutscene to include a conclusion of his defeat and stuff. They just kept the old one by the looks of it.
But that isn't to say people have not tried to fill in the gaps to make their own story, complete with prequel. Unfortunately, they've disappeared, so it looks like it will never be finished.
