| #3 Posted 1 year ago | Reply | They'll probably release the other games individually on Steam soon if they haven't already. From the reviews it looks like Portal, Team Fortress 2 and HL2: Episode 2 almost make it worth buying the full thing though even if you already have HL2 and episode one.
TF 2 does look amazing and the graphics suit the feel of the game amazingly well from what I can see. It will be great with just the standard maps and wait until the community get into modding it and making more maps and I can see it dominating multiplayer gaming until well after the new UT game comes out.
Edit: Actually looking at Steam I'm annoyed that episode 2 and TF2 both cost the same as HL2 but to just buy TF2 and Portal I'm as well buying the full package, what the hell?!? It's only a matter of time before someone gets episode 2 and Portal cracked and online and I'm tempted just to wait for that and but Team Fortress out of sheer annoyance at this gouging. Generally I'm pretty ethical about these things but in this case it just seems like a rip off. TF2 is the only one that I'll play online and therefore need an official copy of. |

Absoloutely, I'd try get the original Half Life if you can as well, the graphics might have aged a bit but it's still a great game.
As for Team Fortress 2 I'm bloody loving it. It's just so much fun and all the classes all feel useful and co-dependent so it doesn't just turn into an all out frag fest (not that frag fests ar inherently bad things) even if I'm clocking up insane amounts of time with the scout and medic for some reason. The only thing I'd like to have seen is maybe a mini map that shows the position of your other team member but as someone pointed out that would defeat the purpose of the spy. On that note I hate those damn spies! |
