What would make a good MMOG?

| #1 Posted 1 year ago | Reply | Taking good examples like Star Wars Galaxies, to mixed games like The Matrix Online, to what will be a disastrous example in Pirates of the Carribean online, which series do you think WOULD translate well into an online game?
I'd put my money on a Transformers MMORPG. It would work in a similar way to World of Warcraft. You'd obviously have two factions, Autobots and Deceptecons. Instead of races, you choose what vehicle your transformer would...transform into. E.g. Autobots would have Trucks, Cars, planes and Deceptecons would have Tanks, Bikes and Helicopters to name a few (I guess they could also make a Beat Wars expansion). Then, you'd have classes, such as weather your transformer would concentrate on hand guns, automated weapons, heavy weapons, rifles, healing or special abilities or hand to hand combat.
Each class would have their own unique abilites, for example heavy weapons would have high stamina, rifle units could have a minicon (a smaller transformer, seen in Armada) and handgun units could weild multiple weapons.
I don't know if the combat should be real time third person shooter style combat or mabe more of an RPG style fighting like Star Wars Galaxies or The Matrix online, you can voice your opinions on that.
Naturally, since it's series based, you'd have all the characters from the various series; i.e. Optimus, Megatron, StarScreen, Bumblebee, Jetfire and Unicron, with quests based on the series storylines.
Thats my idea, anyone got any of the top of their heads? |

Apart from transforming robots? I do like the idea don't get me wrong, but then again I thought the Matrix Online sounded like a good idea...until I wasted my money on it... |

Also, the transformers would be fully customed, so you could either find new parts/weapons or make your own (similar to professions). It was just an idea after all, would be stellar if there was transformers MMO.
Also, ironically, if it was similar to WOW, whenever you go to a dungeon or whatever the Transformers equivalent of that would be, when you look for a tank, he'd literally be a tank... XP |

| #5 Posted 1 year ago | Reply | I think they should make a "Ninja" online game, have different clans that own their own village and constantly at war or spying at each other. It would be cool to level skill by training meathods and slowly creating a move of your own. I'd love to see a combat system that would use skill in battle, not the whole level thing...that way you could be beaten by anyone if you aren't serious. I hate how if someone's afew levels higher...he or she becomes almost unbeatable or kill you in a single shot. Also I'd like if they had a personalize weapon creation system, I hate how all the good weapons only come from boss kills these days......it would be great if everyone could craft their own weapon with materials they gather.
I originally wanted to suggest a well-detailed online Pirate game, but a friend mentioned that they're already beta testing a game like that.....which I can't wait to try out. ^_^ |

DBZ!! Ahhh wait, it is one....ugh......Pokemon actually. I'm sad that Pokemon hasn't made an MMO yet, should've been before DBZ, it has so much it could do, be a trainer or a Pokemon, super customization, play as a wild Pokemon and battle trainer pokemon or be the trainer and have a cool co-op thing where you and your Pokemon (which is your friend) can battle together, and it's real-time not turn based or time set. |

i know basically all MMOs are set in the middle ages, but i want one that you can actually team up with people and fight huge wars against other people that aren't all based on who has greater numbers. something like, you would need enough archers to counter the other team's swordsmen, etc...
but id also like a game like that where if you swing your sword at a guy who has no armor, he should die almost instantly. |

It was actually a pretty awesome series with great potential for an MMOG style game considering there are more then 2 factions, more then 10 races, and enough technology to fight over for centuries. |
