You May Say, I'll Just Do It Once, What's The Worst Thing That Can Happen?

But It Only Takes One time to Get Addicted.

Last Week, When my friend was over, at around 3:00 AM, we found ourselves bored. With nothing else to do, he suggested Runescape, something niether of us have played in well over a year. I had finally managed to escape the wrath of the crappy MMO, and MMO's in general after a long time of addiction. I said, "What the hell, I'll just play for an hour or so. Nothing can happen."

Unfortunately, after that night, I realized something horrible had happened. The next night, I got on the computer, and went directly to Runescape. I somehow found myself once again tangled in the web of crappy Java MMO's. I managed to shake my once again blooming addiction before it got too severe by randomly giving away my acount to a random person, but it just goes to show you.

*That you thought this topic was going to be about drug abuse
*The Addictive Properties of MMOs
*World of Warcraft's easily recognizable supieriority to Runescape
*The Spelling error in my previous bullet.

Wait, wait, wait, wait...

Runescape sucks.

Who gets addicted to that?

Aww, and I came here hoping to find drugs... oh well.

Hello, my name is Kaelus, and I used to be a MMORPG addict.

I never played Runescape, so I can't say much about it. But any repetitive and pointless task seems to distract people from the fact that they lead repetitive and pointless lives, so MMOs got a lot of appeal.

You usually play them bastards for two or three months until you're bored and disgusted with the other players, only to come back running desperately after a semester or so. *sigh*

I'm proud to say that I'm clean for almost two years now. And that World of Warcraft and Neverwinter Nights are the best ones I came across while roaming the sinful path.

You only get addicted to Runescape when you've been dry of any and all MMOs for extended periods of time, as I was. Or maybe if it's your first MMO ever.

Heh, I remember that horrible time when I thought Runescape was...Good...

Either way, I never hope to be addicted to an MMORPG again, no matter if it's Good, Or Horrible Java Crap.

I really didn't know what it was talking about until I read the intro.

I am currently fighting a valiant battle against all of my friends who are raving WoW addicts. I have been battling their urges to make me play with all of my might.

The superiority of WoW makes it that much harder to resist, but stay strong! If I can stay clean, then you can, too!

"Tell your clan members you couldn't make it to the KBD hunt because you were smoking pot. They'll understand...
Runescape-my anti-drug."

Haha but in all honesty, forcibly remove yourself from the computer the next time you start playing. Or feel the urge. In fact, lock yourself in your room until you forget what the game is.

I used to play runescape, until my friends started to play, they played a lot more than me and I just thought, "why do they waste so much time playing runescape?" Then I realized that I wasted too much time on runescape and I quit playing.
Now I am taking a break from WoW.
