Why do people (mostly Americans) think that soccer (aka football, or however you spell it) isn't a "manly" or "American" sport?

Btw, I am American XD

what make me laugh is american football vs rugby americans will say somthing like
'our sport is so dangerous we need protection'
my reply to that is
'no your american football players are such little girls they need protection'

and for the last time its called FOOTBALL not 'soccer' we invented the fucking game we get fucking name it!!! We named it football thus you should call it so!!!! You dont meet an English person named Dave and all start calling him George so why do it to our sports!!!! God your a nation of people who cant name things imaginativley 'New England' 'New York' the list goes on and on.

We named ours football also. We call international football soccer to prevent confusion. I believe the term came from originally playing in socks or stockings, but I am not sure.

Surprise, the British named New England, New York, New Jersy, New Hampshire, etc., not the Americans. Quit making pointless rants.

On-topic:
In general, soccer (I will call it such to prevent confusion, although it really doesn't matter) is considered a less manly sport in America usually because it is not as popular so many people haven't actually experienced what it's like to play soccer. From the sidelines, it really does look like an easy, safe sport. I know this is untrue, but that is merely the general conception.

you should'nt have called your sport (which you invented decades after football) football then you knew that name was taken
(btw no the british didnt name anty of the places yes most of the experditions in america were funded by the british but usauly the captian would get the honer of naming a new place and they were asualy french or spanish)

it is not manly at all. It is a bunch of blokes running on a field and if another person even comes close to touching them they fall on the floor and demand that the ref sends the other guy off. Thats why Rugby is sooo much better

I don't like soccer.
I do, however, prefer sports like football, rugby, and ice hockey.
