Nuclear explosion?
Spontaneous combustion?
Pluto taking revenge for being demoted to dwarf planet status?

Or, Pluto using a "spontaneous" combustion to set off a nuclear explosion in revenge for being demoted to dwarf planet status?

| #64 Posted 3 months ago | Reply | | Well if the wonderful theory of Quantum Mechanics is accurate, there is a possibility that the Earth will just decide to separate all it's particles and send them off in random directions, leaving us all behind. It wouldn't be flashy enough for Hollywood, but the sheer WTF!? moments in those remaining seconds would be hilarious! |

| #67 Posted 3 months ago | Reply | i wrote a few paragraphs about this sort of thing in another thread, but since i can't find it to quote myself, i'll have to rewrite from my memory and scratch.
i saw this thing on the national geographic channel - it was a documentary about the end of the world on 12/21/12, and it talked about how the ancient mayans weren't the only ones who predicted the end of the world on that day. apparently, merlin did, too. and some other ancient people whose names i forgot.
also, there's supposed to apparently be one of those aligning-in-the-galaxy things on that day that only happens once every 25,800 years [or so], and it'll cause flash floods, start earthquakes, and wreck havoc on our plumbing. the dudes on the tv said that it's happened before, and -that- particular catastrophe started the ice age.
make of that what you will.
it might just be that the end of the world will end the way that icon said it would. or maybe not. who knows, y'know? |

| #83 Posted 1 month ago | Reply | Biblically speaking, the world will never be destroyed according to Psalm 104:5 Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever. and Ecclesiastes 1:4 One generation passeth away, and another generation cometh: but the earth abideth for ever.
However, we also learn from the Bible that the Second Coming could arrive in the forseeable future and culminate the return of Jesus Christ to ensue Apocalypse and destroy the Earth. In other words, we should not hold scripture of any form to be a reliable source of prophetic material too many contradictions within the Bible/Quran. Of course, you can always interpret the verses as metaphorical or a parable for something else. |

| #84 Posted 3 weeks ago | Reply | Calendars are man made and the planet doesn't know what 9/9/99 is or means.
I laughed my head off at all the morons who panicked with the y2k thing, over a year before it began I'd even set my mum's computer date beyond the year 2000 just for the hell of it so I knew there was nothing, more lol at people filling up their baths with water!
As far as mayans go, they built things that look like pyramids, so did the egyptians, and on mars there are egyptian style pyramids, and the largest on each planet supposedly line up/point perfectly at each other at certain times, plus a bunch of other egyptian things so I would only rule it out 99%
It's pointless predicting the end of the world, unless you are doing a publicity stunt, those mayans could be releasing a movie or a CD! hehe.
But yeah it's pointless because if you're right, no one will be around to know about it, and when you're wrong everyone will ridicule you.
What it can't hurt to do is assemble an 'armageddon' kit, so if a bunch of asteroids make a mess of the place and 80% of the population is presumed wiped out, you've got stuff like packs of seeds to grow fruit and veg with and one of those machines that makes water from air, which you've modified by adding one of those fitness bikes to power it.
And in my strange supporting theory, the world could end because:
How much more can technology possibly advance, can you really, really imagine an incredible life-realistic VR simulator machine/program/game? how many more GB can they really fit into a micro SD flash card (the ones close to the size of your small fingernail), they just reached 64GB as far as I'm aware.
So therefore technology can't possibly advance that much more, it's only 'meant' to advance so much and the galaxy system caves in around that time! lol |
