| #91 Posted 1 year ago | Reply | Wow, well ok [ first I'll eat my hat on the point I made about Hiro's arc not relating to the main story, but I should have guessed the writers wouldn't have just added it in for fluff.
Overmind has a good idea about the possible nature of Adam/Kensei's powers, but I'm not entirely sure about it. Then again my idea makes it entirely too convoluted so it's probably wrong.
Go Matt, once again I'm happy one of my favourite but most under developed characters is finally getting a chance to shine.
Haruhifan - The X-men story your talking about was the Legacy virus. I can't remember how/if it ever got cured in the comics but the story ran for ages.
Finally it looks like my whole theory about the explosion still happening has been lade to rest. I'm kind of gutted about that because I was really looking forward to them making that into a series in itself. ] |

| #92 Posted 1 year ago | Reply | NP and just adding a side note to my comments on last night's episode, and preview next week's.
[ The side note from my post last night, wanted to add that Tim Kring might be going for more of a religious tone as far as how ADAM works.
Adam is Kensei, a fallen hero now bent on revenge to both Hiro (took his love, might be killer of Kaito now) and the current world. He also might have an amalgamation of all powers of the Petralli line (Claire's healing, maybe, not yet proven or disproven, Peter's absorbing power, hence showing why he's in the future if he absorbed Hiro's time travelling, and Nathan along with any other relative we don't know of yet). Go a bit further since this is like a "Sins of the Family" story, and he has other family members as in the form of a twisted godhood (Bob did say some of the Company was thinking like Gods). So Adam is like the Bible's Adam but very vengeful and wants to be God now. Linderman was his Disciple and Maury Parkman (Nightmare Man) his weapon as Bob said.
Thus consider he might have more disciples and maybe even an Eve perhaps? She was born from his ribs, and hence the analogy that some Heroes are born from Adam/Kensei's ribs as well. It is like he's controlled by the Serpent indeed.
Finally next week we also get more revelations on those suspenseful points, similar to an episode in season one which revealed Noah Bennet's past. This one will mainly cover Peter and how he got amnesiatic, met Elle along with who she is, and other points. So hang in there. ] |

Considering that the sole purpose of this episode was to fill in the blanks which connect Season 1 and Season 2, this episode was pretty good. Thrill-wise, it was not as good as the last episode, but as I mentioned ... it was more about informing.
Mainly, in the last episode, it seemed as if Adam Monroe was the ultimate antagonist. The events in this episode make me think otherwise, and portray the company in a negative light.
[ When Peter phased through into Adam's cell, and there was a brief moment his back was turned, I had this feeling Monroe was going to take a cheap shot at his head (akin to what he did to Hiro). It turns out he's a man of his word, and even fulfills his promise of curing Nathan. ]
On Micah/DL/Nikki's arc:
[ The interesting point here is that Nikki has a new split personality replacing Jessica. The questionable part of the arc was how DL died. His phasing powers were meant to evade bullets (see the incident he had with Linderman). C'mon, it would have made sense if he got shot from the back, but he had like a second after seeing the gun pointed at him. ]
On Elle:
[ Interestingly, quite powerful given that she was able to take both Monroe and Peter out (Or, perhaps, they were unable to fight back because of The Haitian). Nonetheless, sociopaths are still difficult to fight. ]
I predict that in a future episode, Elle and Peter will fight. Somehow.
On Alejandro and Maya:
[ Who in the hell cheats on their spouse-to-be on the Wedding night or the after party? Perhaps Heroes is not completely immune from all TV clichés. On the actual storyline: predictable, nothing too interesting to see here. ]
I'm really looking forward to next week's episode. Quite possibly, the West/Claire/Bennet/Suresh arc will conclude and we'll see how the paintings fit together. |

[ Here again for a recap of the episode tonight.
As needed with many stories for this episode, here's the rundown of the recap of what happened between the Kirby Plaza incident where Peter was flown off by Nathan to save NY to now in this season. Pretty much covered by cast member stories:
Peter/Nathan-So Nathan got BBQed but Peter saved him after blowing up and flying back to put him in the hospital. All good until Elle shows up (man she's got some "different" ideas for foreplay! Electroshock...kinky). He gets turned into a guinea pig and geez, that Haitian sure gets around! Meets Adam and we get the breakout. Still very interesting on how Adam can calmly think now (well he had time) to convince them to leave. In the end, Adam uses his blood to heal Nathan (like Linderman could but needed to do it by blood-interesting how Nathan now has Adam's blood in him). We see how the Haitian flips sides (again) and thus why Peter has his necklace and got locked up to be send to Cork. Not too bad to cover the brothers' story. The mom still freaks me a bit.
OK and before going into my parts next, reading that from Overmind, I must have slightly missed that it's a totally different personality (I thought it was just a variation of her-my mistake as I brainfarted for a moment there...)
DL/Micah/Niki/Jessica-The real big story for me. We see how DL lives...then gets killed (again, the second time he could have phased through the bullet and somehow doesn't-my only beef with the episode. Then again they wanted him out of the plot I suppose). I do like how Jessica/Niki still conflict for power and I want to see how that will turn out now with the virus now in her.
Maya/Alejandro-Again I just don't feel for them. Maya sees new wife cheating on brother so that triggers the power...killing the whole village (ouch, guess no one gave good gifts...j/k). The run begins after a weak attempt at nunnery. OK I had 2 beefs then with the show. At least we saw Sylar again briefly at the end.
Of course we also meet Bob and Elle again, along with
Um decent for plot filling, not much else otherwise. And again, Elle freaks me out, and I see that as good for a villainess. ]
And yes next week will be intriguing to see. |

| #95 Posted 1 year ago | Reply | Damnit there goes my theory on the whole Elle thing. Spoilers ahoy.
[ I'm still not sure or convinced on any of the ideas about Adam. I'm actually thinking as opposed to travelling his regenerative powers are somehow an extreme version of Claire's and he's basically immortal. This might also explain how he was part of the original company and hasn't aged and his comment "Believe me if they could figure out how to kill me they would." or something along those lines. I'm not convinced about any actual connection to the Petrelli's at least directly as in Peter and Natahn's father since presumably they'd have at least seen a photo of him. ] I need a cup of tea to get my brain working again. |

| #96 Posted 1 year ago, in reply to post #95 by DrunkenPrayer | Reply | **This post contains spoilers**
I like the immortality idea, it makes sense. Plus, I'm having doubts about my original theory that Adam has the same power as Peter ...
Mainly, if Adam did have other powers (such as phasing) he could have escaped. But, again, there's an explanation for this: Perhaps, he just never came into contact with anyone that had the phasing ability to begin with (I don't think he could pick it off from Peter given that Peter does not, inherently, have the powers). So, at this point, your guess is as good as mine.
An additional criticism I have of this episode is the cell arrangements at the company. I'll ignore the fact that the company put two "dangerous" prisoners beside each other (Bob reveals that Adam is dangerous and bent on "punishing" mankind, while he convinces Peter that his powers are dangerous and he can hurt others). But, the fact that there was a vent in which both could talk through, and perhaps hatch a plan to escape, seems tenuous. If Adam really was that dangerous, I'd have put him in an environment akin to solitary confinement. |

| #97 Posted 1 year ago | Reply | Hmm good thinking Drunken and Overmind. Wolverine is our prototypical healer from X-men so he's a good argument to that too (immortality).
The containment issue, yes, looked more like NBC said "hey we don't have enough cash so let's use the set of the Office, ok guys?" Hey is Steve Carell showed up with some power my fanboyism might lose it.
That aside not as much spoiler coming but more sidestory stuff:
I am finished the viewing of the HEROES graphic novels online. I also saw they are starting to put them in video format which is cool and gives me even more of an old fashioned comic feel at
Comics on Video
From about Chapter 49-50 where it goes closer back to when the show returned in the Fall (took me a bit to load but got it working):
Wiki Season 2 Novels list
(also there are some bonus and interactive ones but I couldn't get them working on my comp so feel free to check them out.)
-Mohinder is found trying to help patients with the Shanti (named after his deceased sister whom had a power we still don't know about) like one with...electric absorbing powers. And the Company gets involved so Mohinder saves him from them. (NOTE: Perhaps later on this guy will help against say...oh...Elle? Just a possibility.)
-We get one on Maya and Alejandro. Not much there other than a boy giving aid for the wanted posters' pictures, but I got to mention the odd narration with lines from Chandra Suresh's (Mohinder's dad) book like "One can imagine that the ability to fly would enhance a person's chances of survival AND be attractive to the opposite sex." OK I GOT TO ASK THEN: DOES FLYING MAKE THE PETRALLI BROTHERS SEXY, LADIES? An aside thought: I think Maya's main use in this story might be to spread the Shanti virus as I saw one picture from the novel and the 4 months ago episode and it's pretty much the same to what Peter saw in the future with bodies dead everywhere.
-We get the look of how Claire handled during her time moving town to town briefly but then focuses on West, who has been watching her of course from afar and wanting to share his gift and philosophies. (NOTE FROM THE BONUS PART-I couldn't open it but the summary does note Derek was the one who stole her car in that episode and it's her car you see now being driven by Maya, Alejandro and Sylar.)
-A relook at the Haitian as he's treated by Mohinder. Also looks at the Haitian's past again, which had been covered heavily in the novels. A bit looked like a visit to the spirit world in Avatar: The Last Airbender with him meeting Loa, a spirit representing his sins and the memories he took away from others. Once blessed to go on, we see the helix symbol again in the rocks near him.
-Peter looks on whether to find his identity or stay with Caitlin. Mainly just Caitlin telling an old Irish tale related to Peter's struggles. Funny though for Peter's commentary. And we see him control his lightning powers (now known to be from Elle).
-We get a chapter on Kensei's story. This was...odd as we see Hiro there...in furry mode?! Pure comedy filler.
-A look at Molly's nightmare when she went into the coma. Freaky from her point of view, mainly from Sylar memories...and roaches.
-A flashback chapter on Noah's Company days again. The deceased Ivan is in it, whom he shot after getting info of where the protraits of Isaac's were. We are also introduced to Maarten, a fire user for the Company. And lo and behold they are chasing a guy who can change...into water. lol Ouch. Still best chapter I read on return to date.
- Hana's interactive novel
The extra interactive only one on Hana from the Evolutions program I got to work after a bit. Yep she's still "somewhat" alive online. Introduces a Company connection called Drucker and a new wanderer hero named Trav, whose power is to be able to hear and speak ANY language. The Flash Movie was neat again here too. I also found that from the link above, all the novels are also in video form now.
-The last ones are the one covering DL's firefighter training, and Peter's meeting with the future Homeland scurity chief Howard Lemay.
Again these are not obligatory to watch the show but help enjoy it more and fill in a bit of the side story at times. It also gives online characters space like Hana.
Enjoy! |

| #98 Posted 1 year ago | Reply | HI folks!
Heroes sure can have it rough. Monday's episode showed that in Cautionary Tales where it was promised a hero would die.
SPOILER ALERT!
[
-Well no one said it would have to be someone who hasn't died already as Hiro got to spend his last time with his dad Kaito (George Takei). This time we know why Sulu, I mean, Kaito was so nonchalant in his death. And I figured it, it was Kensei who did it. Apparently they said two things on powers: that Kaito had Isaac's power of painting the future (man you'd think with that ability you could sidetrack death but it seems the opposite case), and Kensei IS a more advanced form of Claire, as "he generates so much he STOPS aging". Whoa.
-And no one ever said that the hero to die would have to stay that way. Yep Bennet met his maker...for about 5 minutes. The Company that was to use the kidnapped Claire's blood to cure Niki ended up using it on Noah, who was shot by Mohinder (he so doesn't look like a killer but I think that's the point). Elle also has been revealed as Bob's daughter, and she can be weakened by water (ouch that was disturbing). Oh and West was useful in saving Claire, while Matt is also expanding his ability to now be a bit similar to Eden from Season One in that he can plant and suggest thoughts, but if a person resists like Angela Petralli did, it's lethal. We also have a new secret as one woman left in the Company photo is in hiding.
Seems like things are becoming more centric thanks to last week's episode clearing up missing data. OK the next bit is a REAL spoiler for the next 2 episodes.
SPOILER WARNING FOR NEXT 2 EPISODES!
Truth and Consequences Preview
Powerless Preview
The reason I went to check is because I'm not usually one to go too far ahead but due to the Writer's strike and the ads that came after last night in Canada, these 2 are being billed for now as the season finale abruptly done. No confirmation on if this going to hurt anything they had planned past this but it can't help sadly.
-Truth and Consequences: Well I love how many are taking to Kensei being heroic or not a villain so I'm almost getting a feeling fans and possibly the show are playing him up as the Magneto or X-Men fame, as in he has lofty goals for humanity, acts friendly to those for his cause like Peter (who is doing it unknowingly) but has done bad things too, some of his doing but some out of reaction to things around him (like Hiro's past interactions in Feudal Japan). We're going to get most of the Heroes not in last episode playing roles with Niki now having to confront Micah, and Monica getting action. Hiro is of course chasing Kensei now (I was skeptical but now I love this rivalry!) while Matt is tracking our mystery Company woman. Oh and if we care, Maya must choose between her twin and Sylar. Man of the talks I hear from critics and some fans they sure want those twins dead and thought it was going to happen last episode. Sadly I too don't care for them much either...
-Powerless: How appropriate a title not only for what will happen but also the real life situation of the Writer's Strike hurting this show and all US TV...so be prepared for one of many rushed season endings for US TV Shows. Well we get that action everyone wants with...
*cue Michael Buffer voiceover*
IN THIS CORNER FROM NEW YORK, THE POWERFUL PETRALLI BROTHERS, HIGH FLYING NATHAN AND POWERHOUSE PETER!
AND FACING THEM WILL BE THE JAPANESE SENSATION HIRO NAKAMURA AND THE MIND GAMES PLAYING MATT PARKMAN!
Oh my place your bets. Kensei of course set this one up (duh). We'll get to see if Monica can escape a gang, and more Micah/Niki time. Elle will try to turn good for her dad's sake, and
HUGE SPOILER!
Sylar makes it to kidnap Mohinder and Molly, so it's up to Maya to stop him.
]
Well that's enough for your readings so do take care! |

| #99 Posted 1 year ago, in reply to post #98 by Haruhifan | Reply | **Warning: Spoilers**
One thing I'd like to point out is that Elle may not be Bob's biological daughter (i.e. This is akin to Bennet adopting Claire). Bennet claims Elle was brought to the company at 5 years of age and developed the tendencies of a sociopath because of the testing they put her through. Elle herself claimed, to Peter, that the company took her in after she burnt down her home (The truthfulness is debatable since Bennet also implies the Haitian wiped out her memory).
On the discussion of Elle being weakened by water ... That is not 100% accurate. Unpurified water is a relatively good conductor of electricity. In order to keep Elle hostage, Bennet cleverly confined her to a metal chair (Metal is also a very good conductor of electricity) in such a way that by using her powers the electric charge is conducted and lead to the pail of water at her feet.
This episode was good, but not as exciting as Out of Time.
It's good to see how Matt Parkman's powers are developing (Interestingly, he seems to learn a new ability every episode). So, keeping count, he can read minds, trap people in dreams (similar to his father), and now implant thoughts.
On the Bennet/Claire/West arc, I'm kind of glad to see that Bennet was revived. He's one of those characters that are integral to the show and by writing them out, the show just never seems the same. Though, I do have to admit that I can't seem to pinpoint a "bad guy" in the Company vs. Bennet. Both are looking out for their own interests, which are legitimate (Suresh wants to save Nikki, Bob sees Claire as being beneficial to saving people, but Bennet is fiercely loyal to Claire and does not want to see her suffer). Thus, I kind of felt sorry when the injured Elle and helpless Bob had a gun pointed at them by Bennet.
By this point, it was pretty much obvious that Kaito's killer was Adam Monroe (From the top of my head, Monroe would want to kill Kaito because he was one of the people who imprisoned him and/or because he was Hiro's father). Monroe would also "fit" as the killer because he could survive a fatal fall from a building, while Kaito could not. But, I couldn't wait to see the expression on Hiro's face when he discovered this (I have a feeling Monroe planned this so Hiro would discover him). |

| #100 Posted 1 year ago | Reply | Woo hoo finally I called something right.
Shall we just assume that this is pretty much just the up to date Heroes thread for those watching in the US or watching by other means so we can stop with the spoiler tags.
Just in case *SPOILERS*
Matt - It seems like he's going down a dangerous road with his powers, remember the old saying about power corrupting. He's not quite reached his dads stage yet of being able to change peoples full reality but he's getting there. The scene with him an Mollie was creepy.
Noah - I'm half glad and half upset about what happened since it seemed really cheap. I'm not 100% convinced it's the company that cured him. They have no real reason for wanting to keep him alive and are now short a Haitan to wipe his memories so they could brainwash him. It's possible that the Haitan, Peter and Adam are working together with how little we actually know about the Haitan and where his true loyalties lie and that they brought Bennett back. Unlikely I guess but possible.
Mohinder - See comments on Matt, he's another one that's slipping into a bad place.
I was actually expecting the killer to be Peter for some reason since we know him and Adam are working together now, but then I realised I'm getting the timelines mixed up. Correct me if I'm wrong but should it in brief go like this.
Peter nearly explodes but is flown off -------> Peter ends up in the companies care and meets Adam -------> Adam and Peter escape ------> Adam saves Nathan with his blood ------> Haitan wipes Peter's memory and Peter travels to Ireland ------> Adam murders Kaito.
Ok that wasn't as brief as I thought. So unless Peter travelled back in time from somewhere to murder Kaito my theory wouldn't have worked. I think this also falls a bit flat because if the Haitan somehow feels indepted to Angela Petrelli then he probably wouldn't be helping Adam seeing as he wants to kill her. Damnit I want to know more about the Haitan now. |

| #101 Posted 1 year ago, in reply to post #100 by DrunkenPrayer | Reply | **Warning: Spoilers**Woo hoo finally I called something right.
Yeah, after Angela Petrelli revealed Adam's immortality your theory came to mind. It also answers a key question: Why hasn't the company, as opposed to just locking him up, just killed Adam?. You would think that there has to be at least some way to kill him. Yet, either they can't or they don't know how.
This is just a hunch, but I think Sylar and his knowledge of how to remove an individual's powers is key to this. Specifically, Sylar's "technique" could rid Monroe of his powers, thus, making him vulnerable to death. Though, of course, if Sylar were to gain this power, it could be worse (i.e. An immortal superhuman is a favourable threat in comparison to an immortal superhuman with a smörgåsbord of powers).I'm not 100% convinced it's the company that cured him. They have no real reason for wanting to keep him alive and are now short a Haitan to wipe his memories so they could brainwash him.
I never thought of that ... I just assumed Bob brought him back as a bargaining tool to recapture Claire (Given that he was cured with the blood of a regenerative person, implied to be Claire, and that it seems implausible for them to take Bennet's corpse in the first place if they weren't going to revive him). But, if you are indeed correct, I have a hunch that it was Mohinder who would bring him back to life (perhaps due to guilt of shooting Bennet, and betraying him). |
|
|
| #102 Posted 1 year ago | Reply | I think Angela Petrelli made a point that Adam's regeneration is much more advanced than Claire's, I don't get how it could be fast enough to regenerate something like having your head lobbed off but who knows. You'd figure after a lot of attempts somebody would have tried it.
The company theory on Bennett does make sense I just have a feeling about it though. Mohinder acting independently makes sense as well though. |

I have slowly been hearing who will be added in season 3 so I hope to have more next time folks. Take care and nice to be somewhat back! |

| #104 Posted 4 months ago | Reply | Hello! TK from the Heroes group here to give this thread as well its first big update for Heroes: Season 3 called Villains!
Newest NBC Heroes Trailer
While watching TV tonight the new trailer aired, posted above, and we first off get a clarification that the new season STARTS NOW ON MONDAY SEPTEMBER 22! Please disregard the old date then from my last post.
With help from Wikipedia Heroes Page
Season Three: Villains
Season three will open with a two-hour episode, set to air Monday, September 22, 2008 on the NBC network in the US and the CTV network in Canada. In the UK, Season 3 should start within a few days of the US air dates on the BBC Two network, as the BBC intends to screen every episode as closely as possible to the US screening times, to help maximize audiences and to counter the attraction of illegal internet downloading. It will also screen each episode several times per week during prime time, evenings & weekends and on the BBC HD & BBC Three neworks.
The premiere of the third volume, "Villains", will be preceded by a one-hour clip show of the past two seasons. "Villains" was originally designed to be included within the second season; however, due to the writers' strike, the volume was carried over into season three. The lead-in to "Villains" featured a scene with Sylar, which was shown as the final scene of the "Generations" finale. Throughout Volume Two, Sylar's powers were suppressed by the Shanti virus. After using a cure, procured from Mohinder Suresh, he regained his abilities, delivering the first lines of Volume Three, "Villains": "I'm back."
Tim Kring has claimed that the new volume will bring a cadre of villains to the show, hence the title. On December 5, 2007 at the Jules Verne Film Festival Adventure, Tim Kring showed a video-preview of volume three. According to an interview with Allan Arkush, filming for season three began on May 1, 2008. On May 9, 2008 a season three promo clip was released with hints at possible "inner villains" within the heroes.
The promo stated, "In every hero there could be a villain," before plastering the words "hero" and "villain" over the face of every major character. Finally, at the featured Heroes panel, the entire first hour of the first episode of the Villains arc was shown. In July NBC began airing a teaser for season three featuring Noah Bennet talking to Claire stating, "This was before you were even born, I was finding these people and locking them away so that they couldn't hurt anybody. Now a dozen of them have escaped, and they will kill...and they will terrorize...and they will cause...unimaginable destruction to the world...they're villains, Claire," while a montage of clips play. Zachary Quinto, who plays Sylar, has stated that the Villains story arc will last for thirteen episodes. At the San Diego Comic Con 2008, the booth for Heroes displayed two separate looping tracks of two people in completely white rooms. One strained against his restraints, while the other paced around the room.
In addition, Kring screened the first part of the season opening episode of the "Villians" arc, entitled "The Second Coming", which was shown in its entirety at Comic-Con and received a positive response from fans.
SO in a nutshell even if you missed season 2 or even season 1, there will be a synopsis episode prior for you to catch up. It will be 13 episodes since it was meant to be a part of season 2. hey of course tease a lot of Heroes might fall to the dark side in the new trailer once again, with Claire highlighted in particular. Again, looks like Niki and Nathan WILL STILL be in the show in some capacity so they might yet live. So look forward to it and let's look to have a good season 3 and beyond!

| #105 Posted 4 months ago | Reply | Oh my gosh! I've just seen the new trailer and I am so psyched (and I never even say that) to see it [ especially the part when Claire is all I'm not sure I'm even human and then pulls the gun on Peter ].
Nathan and Nikki being back is some of the best news, Nikki was always one of my favourite characters, but I heard that she might be another personality, any news on that anyone?
Although I'm moving to Scotland for college starting the 23 so hopefully I'll have a computer of my own or a tv that will show it if it's on BBC. If I can't get Heroes I think I might shrivel up on die . |

How so? It looks to be building on what we've seen of the future timeline in previous seasons as well as bringing in more villains.
Personally I think it's going to be really interesting. The company has obviously been imprisoning people with powers that they couldn't coherce into joining them which means there are going to be a lot of independents like Sylar out there making it harder to keep the fact that the heroes exist a secret.
It looks like someone might be digging Adam out as well. |

| #109 Posted 3 months ago | Reply | OK odd because my review from last week isn't showing so will repost it here along with tonight's recap!
Welcome to Season 3 with the review and discussion of the preview episode and the first two episodes of Heroes: Season 3, called Villains.
Each posting I’ll shorten some of the highlights of each episode then open it up to discussion for all of the Heroes fans to discuss each time. Have fun with it! I’ll also use various sources like Wikipedia for info as need be or to checkup on details.
HEROES: Season 3 Preview
-Basically a one hour countdown show to the 2 episodes to come along with a recap of the first 2 seasons hosted by the actors in turn at the Hollywood swanky party for fans. It’s gotten quite big over the years to have its own premiere party now so I like many of you hope for a good season 3 as well!
You got quite a bit of info including:
* Seeing the World Tour with the actors of the show and even a few clips of how other countries dub the show. Clips also showed of the Heroes show being mentioned on other NBC shows like 30 Rock and the Office.
* Little tidbits of the show like how Star Trek has a huge influence on the show (like how some of the cast from George Takei to Zak Quinto have or will show up in one of its incarnations)
* A recap in a sort of cheesy way of the characters appeared so far. It was a good way to reintroduce the cast to us and to newcomers to the show. I did laugh at how they poked fun at themselves about the whole Petralli brothers and how they keep almost dying, hinting Nathan is not dead…or is he?
* Presentations of fandom including a mySpace Biggest Heroes fans contest on the red carpet of the Hollywood party and watching of the show. Sprint also had an interactive experience for Heroes online like the graphic novels I had reviewed and the clips at their website at http://www.nbc.com/Heroes and text messages. There was also a contest for a new hero introduced by fans: Audrey who was tending to a sick family member who can speed up or slow down time, or Santiago who played soccer and wanted to succeed but awoke his power of being able to calculate probabilities and see outcomes before going forward. It’s a current phone in voting contest o further interaction between fans and the show.
* Behind the scenes showing with other cast members like with special effects, action training/choreographing and makeup. One cool one was the many stunt doubles for Hayden (Claire) for scenes such as when she stopped Combustion Man but got charred. They also pitched the Season 2 DVD with a clip from the extras.
* Preview clips from the upcoming season including meeting the new character named Bridgette whose power is that when she touches anything she can see its history, everything or everyone it/he/she has seen, heard, touched, etc. who will be Angela Petralli’s new assistant, Claire being worried about Nathan being shot last season, Claire being reunited with her fire powered biological mom, Meredith Gordon, meeting Hiro’s new female speedster rival named Daphne, finding out how Sylar returns to the Company to faceoff with them and the Bennets, another taping by Claire questioning if she’s alive and human before testing her powers against a train. We also get a good preview of the Villains past and those to come that are held in Level 5 of the Company (Sylar was held on Level 2 and it’s based on threat level). Also a rogue gallery to “Who Killed Nathan?” was shown like Noah Bennet, Adam Munroe, Angela Petralli, Niki Sanders, Mohinder Suresh, Claire, and of course, Sylar. And of course they tease too it might be a new character.
EPISODE 1, SEASON 3: The Second Coming
-Manhattan, NY, 4 years into the future, Peter is running from Claire, who has a gun, trying to correct another bleak future for all. (Funky Canadian commercial clip talked about how the actual actors for these “family” members on the show are dating and dubbed Hay-Lo now, Hayden and Milo. Yeah still freaky) Then we see future Peter teleport to the present…disguised so he can SHOOT Nathan in Season 2! Well so much for NBC’s research, heh. After a failed chase of the culprit we get Claire seeing the news while Nathan is shipped to hospital. There Peter goes over his dead body…that comes back to life! We later on see Matt meeting Peter who had found the gun in a closet. Matt of course read minds so he could tell this guy wasn’t the present day one and could not have known the gun was there so easily and it’s revealed to be Future Peter, trying to stop Nathan from revealing Heroes to the world (well geez, shooting him seems rash even if the future becomes bleak…). Peter uses some power to make Matt disappear I believe and leaves. He finds Nathan who is awake, being followed by a reporter and who settles in a church where a Spanish family is praying. He gives his message but it’s now one of God telling him the world needs to save itself, save ourselves, save the world. He considers us all angels doing God’s will. I am Catholic but this seems a bit touchy, but we shall see how religion will play a role in this plot. We get back to the story once Peter leaves Nathan’s bedside…then LINDERMAN re-appears ALIVE as the one who healed Nathan! A politician is watching at home and wants to use Nathan, so he calls his mistress over named Tracy, but you know her as…NIKI/JESSICA Sanders! Well now we got partial answers to who survived season 2 (and for Linderman, Season 1!).
-Hiro is now in charge of the family business with Ando as his right hand man. The company lawyer sends a DVD from his father that warns him NOT to open any safe. Of course Hiro finds and opens it to see another DVD saying this was a bad choice, and now he has to defend a written formula sheet, one half of some important chemical. Of course this brings the first thief to take it, the aforementioned speedster Daphne. Banter ensues until she punches Hiro in the face, who stopped time to try and stop her. She escapes as a blur, Flash-style.
-Claire is in her new home alone when she gets a visitor: Sylar. Sylar is back to being the bad guy we all fear as he hunts her down in her home while she tries to hide. Sylar finds something equally valuable in the home, Noah’s files which include the profiles of the Level 5 inmates of the Company which he could also kill and absorb. Claire tries to stop him but to no avail as he starts cutting her head open for absorption…he does joke to us how disgusting Claire was to think he EATS her brains to gain the powers. As suspected he simply looks at the lobes to find the source of the powers to take and absorb into his body, but then leaves the person to die. He put her top back and didn’t kill her, never intent to kill her, telling her she nor can he now die as she has so much unknown about herself to discover.
-Maya is also hiding from Sylar but at Mohinder’s apartment. Mohinder gets the blunt of a cricket bat and later on explains he cannot help her, setting off her power until she calms. Mohinder then gets the deduction that his father was wrong all along and that the gene for the powers must lie in adrenaline since it sets off Maya’s powers, so now he works on a new cure. He found though instead a way to GIVE powers to others rather than remove them, which worries Maya so she goes after him to talk him out of doing it. He reasons that he could have saved his father if he had the powers so he also wants to not only give humans the powers but himself as well, which Maya again warns there is no idea of what unique powers could be released if he does so.
-We get our answer of where Matt is of sorts, stranded in a desert with no one around. Hiro meanwhile contemplates with Ando on who the thief was, what was that formula and who his father referred to as “The Light” Hiro must find to save them all. Instead of going to the past to find answers (yeah last time he did that it was called one of the Season 2 errors), he goes to the future. He sees his future sword wielding self with the formula fighting with Ando. Ando shoots some red beam from his hands to knock Hiro out and take the paper, all while the city of Tokyo is under sirens and then a blackout and another explosion. They sure love their futures plagued with explosions. Mohinder injects himself with his new power inducer, and like all mad scientists he passes out from it. Angela appears to see the Future Peter whom she knows is from the future. She tells him that she knows the future is going to be bleak but because this future Peter caused it by shooting Nathan. He tells he that the real current day Peter is safe away, in Level 5 along with Noah and other villains (one that uses blue fire for example) in what seems like another body as well! Claire is found by her adopted mom crying and Matt is walking that desert/savannah area to a rock with the DNA insignia. We get narration about the second coming, like a prophet. Sylar walks to his next destination. Mohinder awakes to some thugs who get thrown by him, as it seems we got another super strong Hero? The insignia once again shows on the wall of a building in the dark nearby as we go into the next episode…get all that?
EPISODE 2, SEASON 3: The Butterfly Effect
-We start with Claire and her adopted mom Sandra talking about Sylar and how he got what he wanted and won’t come back. She cuts herself on some glass but didn’t notice it at first due to no longer feeling pain, something Wolverine doesn’t have but now she does thanks to Sylar’s unplanned surgery. She talks about missing pain since it was the only sign she was still human. We see the same clip used in the preview in hour 1 where Claire is taping herself being hit by the train, but we now know it’s so she can see if anything about her is human as she can’t feel pain even anymore. Future Peter flies in (see following paragraph for the previous scene to this one) to save her and console her confused and scared state. He can’t say much since he’s already done a lot to change the future, and can’t train her either as she asks. He teleports away, leaving Claire there to ponder.
-Angela sees some bleak future with her powers but only in her dreams. She sees all the Heroes dead or dying at the hands of her former Company allies and Sylar. She goes to see Future Peter (man this is as complicated as a Bishop/X-men or Superman/Legion of Superheroes episode) who wants to save the world but she tells him to go back to his time or you get the Butterfly Effect, as in screw with time even a bit like squashing a butterfly and something in the future will mess up. Peter ignores her and does the rope tying linking to figure out what went wrong like Future Hiro did. Peter had told Claire to stay home and well, we saw what happened so Angela tells Peter to check himself.
-Um fan service time (is this an anime now?!) as we see a shirtless and RIPPED Mohinder checking out ALL his new powers. So now he went from nerdy scientist to a guy who is super strong, fast and can climb walls by scaling them…hmm…sounds familiar. Wonder if he gets some speech about powers…no…instead Maya falls for him and she loves her body…for giving him his new powers. Oh and they make out. Well I guess we get new romances once again this season. We return later in the episode to their bedside as Mohinder awakes…to see in his washroom mirror that his skin is falling off! Ewwww! Seems like his serum is more the Lizard like than Spider-man…
-Matt passes out in that desert. Well it takes the whole episode but we get back to him looking at a turtle. Did it just talk and tell him to get water from a nearby plant?! Oh wait, an African guy is behind him, heh. But thank you turtle nevertheless! The guy notes he’s from American and asks if he knows Britney Spears. Lol Well they get going on foot on a spirit walk. Oh and no using his cell phone, that’s long distance on the Sprint plan. OK joking aside the man knows his name and painted the rock from last episode to lure Matt here and to make this walk with him like his dreams suggested.
-Sylar is walking down the street when 2 Company agents try to taser him. Too bad Sylar now can’t be hurt so they’re toast. Elle sees this on the camera on site but her dad, Company head Bob, forbids her to leave, knowing she’s just wanting to please him like before and likely will get killed. Well nice to see Sylar’s kill count hasn’t stopped.
-A now paranoid Hiro is with Ando investigating the theft area while detectives look at it too. Daphne Millwood is the name of the thief and she resides in Paris. Ando wishes to go too, so Hiro, again hesitant at first, decides to take him too. They appear in her swanky apartment that includes the Mona Lisa painting. She’s been busy robbing plenty of things, so the duo decides to look around for the formula while looking through her stolen loot. Hiro finally tells Ando about how his Future self is killed by Future Villain Ando which is why he’s so uneasy around current day Ando. Ando promises he won’t go that path and it’s maybe a shape shifter or robot that did it, not really comforting Hiro. As they try to figure out how Batman would set a trap for Catwoman as Hiro put it, he looks among the stolen loot a medal for first place in the 100 M dash from grade school and wonders about taking it as a ransom. So he has Ando be there to do the swap when she returns, but she came with a knife just moments away from cutting Ando up so Hiro had to let her go. Ando got cut a bit but the plan worked of planting a tracking bug on the medal she took back. Very Batman-like, even if he put his “Robin” in harms way and still doesn’t trust him (it’s not like Robin turned on Batman…oh wait...oops, never mind). She’s in Germany and like chasing Carmen Sandiego around the world, they are off to Germany!
-At the office of Governor Malden in Washington, D.C., the politician chasing Nathan as an ally is with Tracy Strauss She is her advisor (sex is free) so she tells him to make Nathan his junior senator. A reporter comes to her car as she goes to get Nathan, and he has her web ad from her old stripper gig. She of course scoffs it off. Nathan is in a hospital recuperating in Odessa, Texas when Tracy shows up giving him the offer. He wonders why Niki works and asks her about that as he mentions his sins with her (season 1 in Vegas) but she seems actually believing she’s Tracy and that he’s mistaken her for that other name. Well it’s likely amnesia OR she got another personality out of that explosion in Season 2 when we last saw her, we shall see. She leaves and Linderman comes back in to entice Nathan to take up the offer as being the wish of God. Nathan tells him to leave and says he knows nothing about God. Of course Nathan doesn’t know that not only Niki was nearly killed after they met, but that Niki’s husband had killed Linderman in season 1, or so we thought so in a way both men might have seen this vision Nathan follows now. Yeah my head spins too, but in a good way I think.
-Also remember that kill count I was talking about? Well now Sylar infiltrated the Company just as Elle goes to her dad’s office to tell him a plan to lure Sylar out using Level 5, just to find she’s too late and Bob is dead, head cut open. Elle grabs some guns, heads down to Level 5 and releases Noah from his cell and gives him one gun, telling him about the situation. As they leave, Elle is attacked by Sylar. Bennet unloads a clip into Sylar, who of course heals and taunts his attack on Claire to get the powers. His mind powers push Bennet away while Peter is screaming to leave Elle alone in his cell. Sylar has gained Bob’s transmutation powers and works to cut Elle open next for hers, but Elle releases one final attack and fries the whole area in electricity, knocking Sylar away. Chaos ensues through Elle’s eyes as prisoners flee since she pretty much tore up Level 5’s security. The real Peter in his new body tries to help her but other prisoners grab him to flee, just as she faints. Angela comes to Elle’s side once she’s awake and is now top command of the Company. Sporting a head scar she at least tells Angela that Sylar is caught again but all the other villains escaped, about a dozen of them, along with Bennet and the real Peter. Angela fires Elle on the spot and suggests she finds a new life.
-We get to the end of this episode with Future Peter meeting up with Nathan in the hospital. He shows him a hidden scar (invisibility) over his eye similar to Bishop in X-men, telling him how he came to stop Nathan from revealing all the secrets or else they will all be hunted. Oh yeah, he was the one who shot you big brother. He stopped Nathan so next he’s off to set things right. Nathan calls Tracy and will serve as junior senator so long as Tracy is on his staff. Tracy agrees and parks at the office underground parking where the reporter is still there, now with a laptop showing the clip he got from a security friend of her in Vegas with Nathan, threatening to release the story. She gets angry…then he suddenly freezes, blows up and melts down a drain. Sub-Zero, fatality! So was this her or someone else, since she has as little clue as us how that happened.
-We end with Claire at home, suddenly finding Noah at home! He won’t stay long with gun in hand. We cut to Nathan and Linderman playing chess and talking about the choices Nathan has to make next when a nurse interrupts Nathan to return to bed. He says he’s in a heated game but she sees no one. Linderman is some type of ghost only Nathan can see. Nathan can see dead people! Back to Claire and Noah on his computer going over the escaped villains of Level 5: a guy who can absorb fear to make his own power, a flame thrower, a guy named the German who controls magnetism (hmmmm another familiar one…), and the one who is called Jesse whom can destroy the world which Noah can only say for now (Peter’s body!). Noah must be off to stop them. Claire pushes the partnership deal to him. He instead offers that someone was brought in to protect the whole family: Claire’s biological mom, Meredith Gordon!
We also return to Level 5 to see future Peter ask Angela where all of the prisoners went to. She again notes the Butterfly Effect and how he screwed it up, putting the real Peter in Jesse’s body. He goes off to do more correcting while Angela once again tells him to get back to his own time, Lol. Time travelers are never a good sign in ANYTHING it seems. The Real Peter tries to call Nathan who he thinks might be dead (since he was teleported away by his future self before finding out Nathan’s fate, so the Peter that saw him all this time was the future Peter) to be on the lookout for someone looking like him with the facial scar. His new prisoner buddies who still think he’s Jesse rally him up to get in a stolen truck that they got after frying and killing a few people he can’t stop. We come back to the Level 5 cell of Sylar where he meets up with Angela who says she’s been a bad mother for not tending to Sylar…wait…so the person he killed was NOT her mother and Angela IS!
- The preview for Episode 3 has Nathan getting the real Peter’s call in a different voice, Noah on his way to stop the Level 5 villains from a heist, Peter found out as not being Jesse, and Noah going in with his new partner…SYLAR!
We leave on that cliffhanger folks, so digest, discuss and see you next time!
Welcome back for Episode 3 of Season 3 of Heroes: Villains! Let’s get into the review!
EPISODE 3: One of Us, One of Them
-We start with Angela’s interrogation of her son Sylar (see the Season 3 preview for the details). Thing is that apparently Sylar actually ATE her powers of seeing the past of anyone or anything by touch, so add another power to his list. Meanwhile we find out Tracy (Niki) has in fact the power to freeze things now. Well that’s an interesting tradeoff for super strength. The Real Peter is still in the criminal body of Jesse at a bank heist while the message he left with Nathan is there while the Future Peter hovers around. Noah meets with Angela at the cleanup of Level 5, talking about getting the escapees, but he’ll need a partner. As said in the preview, that partner is Sylar!
-So the main focus looks to be the bank heist. They take hostages, but then some disagreement results in the Magneto guy being killed by the fear eater. Guess he wasn’t cut out to be the main villain. 3 people left with the fire user, the African who killed and the Real Peter/Jesse. Angela keeps convincing Sylar that she, not the lady Sylar killed, is his mother. They see the crime on the news and Angela warns Noah that Peter might not know what Jesse’s power is yet. Peter meanwhile tries to pretend to be Jesse, where he finds out his family is from…or so he thought as he got tricked! Busted, as Sylar and Noah come on the scene, knowing both of them are puppets for Angela. Funny moment as Sylar imitates some copper like attitude to make the other cops around think he’s an agent, oh, and he got decaffeinated coffee too, heh. Peter is in trouble since even if he got put in the body, he gets beat up. Noah gets ready to enter unarmed to free the hostages and Sylar wants in. Noah doesn’t want him anywhere near “the buffet in there.” When Noah gets there he tries to get Jesse Peter to help and he does by finding out his power is a sonic scream like Banshee in the X-men! He screams everyone away when suddenly the place freezes in time. Future Peter shows up and wants to help Peter (right after shooting Nathan and putting Peter in his current predicament of course), so to show him they go to the future. One small problem though: Jesse regains control of his body and attacks Noah! Sylar saves him as they take down the remaining villains. Sylar then of course (thankfully) goes back to being so evil due to his hunger, which Noah tries to stop him behind a glass door Sylar closes on him. Let’s say in the end Jesse becomes a Pizza Pop and Sylar’s next meal as Noah looks on.
-Claire’s real mom Meredith is trying to adjust living with the Bennets. Each mom seems to have different views, Mrs. Bennet particularly wants Claire to try to live the normal life that Claire isn’t sure is her path, and maybe her father’s path is more suited to her. Claire wishes to learn how to fight and become a hero so Meredith agrees, taking her to some dojo. Well it’s some run down factory actually with containers of metal, one which they enter. Meredith tests her by burning the room up of air while heating it. She truly tortures her to see if she can really handle what’s in store. She gets tortured then by the encounter with Sylar as the air thins. She walks out on her mom still wanting to help. Tough love ends while they make up at home and Meredith wishes Claire to first protect herself and live the normal 17 year old girl’s life and then she can be taught, in due time. The moms talk as Claire apparently didn’t go to school after all. Mrs. Bennet argues she took care of her, while Meredith wants to protect her from another attack. Claire comes back into the scene and asks if she can go to a cheerleaders sleepover and they approve.
-Daphne is being chased by Hiro and Ando, now in Berlin, Germany. Daphne is a bit overconfident to tell Hiro that she plans to get the other half of the formula to deliver to her buyers. We suddenly see the Haitian whom Hiro recognizes from his trip to the future, so they follow him instead. They go into a classic theatre where Daphne plays with them. They leave her while they follow the Haitian to the classic black and white movie music. They try to be ushers and Ando improvises by knocking the Haitian down a staircase! They argue about Daphne being influential on Ando and she comes in to take the briefcase with the formula. They would follow but the Haitian gets up and uses his powers to cancel Hiro’s!
-Tracy tries to find out who the woman in the video is so she calls Nathan, who says it’s her. She only has an address in New Orleans so she decides to head there. She gets there and sees her own body in an open casket. Micah shows up too at this church. Creepy as they talked. He admits to Tracy his mom had powers and thinks she has them too. He’s so cool and mature! He uses his powers on a computer to find out who she is. All her info is the same as Niki’s! Awww and he hugs her.
-Matt continues his journey in Africa with his guide. He sees more funny stones that might help him figure out why he’s here. Some look like the paintings of Matt’s life. One might be a future one of having a child. The guide said it changed though as he paints. So he has the power too to go into a trance and paint the future. When done, the spirit walk shows a woman being killed in Matt’s arms. It’s up to him now to see if this will be his future or not.
-As the episode ends, Tracy is trying to find answers in California and meets some doctor who claims to have made her. A montage of the cast plays as we get another speech narrated about finding one’s self. The Haitian reappears asking if he was being replaced, but Noah just says for now until his weakness is found and he can kill Sylar. Ah the story is back to how it should be for now. |

| #110 Posted 3 months ago | Reply | Going to try a shorter format with just shorter power points of what occurred in each episode then open it up to discussion after review. Let’s try it!
HEROES SEASON 3: Villains-EPISODE 4: I AM BECOME DEATH
-Mohinder is still dealing with his newly formulated super powers and the particular drawback of what he calls a rash (peeling skin). Maya is still with him.
-Tracy finds out she was manufactured (so she’s not Niki but like a clone possibly) along with Niki and Jessica to have powers and not born as first thought with them (this is a bit like an old X-Men/Justice League story of making a way to give super powers like mutants had to normal people, so this is now our story focus). Nathan is back in the Senate while Linderman’s ghost follows him still. Linderman asks him to save Tracy as tries to resign and jump off a bridge, so he flew in to save her. Love sure comes full circle.
-Matt is with his guide in Africa trying to decipher the painting of his future with a fallen woman in his arms.
-Hiro and Ando fight after the Haitian caught them over the future Hiro saw of him being killed by Ando. They make up but the Haitian still has them captive. Angela talks to Hiro and Ando about the formula and the downfall that comes from losing the formula. Hiro will now work for Angela.
-The aforementioned manufacturing of “Heroes” is seen in the future with both Future Peter and our time Peter being there where anyone can buy the powers or steals them. Future Peter warns that this will lead to the apocalypse and that the Real Time Peter must go to Sylar for help, not Claire, Mohinder or Nathan who might turn out to be their villains in the end, resulting in future Claire shooting down Future Peter. The Future mutant squad hunters now are Claire, Molly (who can find people still) the one African guy who uses fear as his power from Level 5, the Haitian and Daphne among others. Mohinder is mutated in the future when Peter visits, then he meets…Sylar in a nice house with a son?! He talks about brothers and his hunger, wanting to be just Gabriel now. Matt has Molly still and another baby with Daphne (a bit young no?).
Gabriel teaches Peter how to fix a watch while painting him the future. The Squad locates them and a battle ensues. His son is killed so he combusts (season 1 apocalypse all over again). Claire survives and tortures Peter by slicing him up with the Haitian standing by. President Nathan stops her and frees Peter but says he needs to find help. Peter tries to read Nathan’s mind, but also took Sylar’s ability and kills Nathan. He teleports back to Level 5 in our time, seeing Sylar in his cell and sharing this info. Also watching from the present this new future is Matt thanks to the guide. Turns out Daphne dies in his arms.
-Your ending: Angela gets Hiro to be the one digging up Adam to help out and he’s none too pleased!
Take care!

Good point made and welcome Bluespirit!
Welcome back and here’s the reap review of Episode 5 of the Villains saga!
HEROES Season 3: EPISODE 5-Angels and Monsters
-Last episode reciprocates with Nathan continuing to be hounded by Linderman, Mohinder is locating drug dealers to soothe his pain, Peter returns with Sylar’s hunger now in him, trying to kill Sylar (which he can’t), almost killing Angela for her mind until Sylar stops him using his telekinesis, which leads to Noah coming with a new mission, and Claire beginning her new venture in bounty hunting for villains on Noah’s files which both her moms fear she’s doing instead at being at said cheerleader party. She captures a person who can make warp holes using her newly bought taser, while Meredith is on her way to stop her before she faces someone too powerful like Eric Doyle whom she saw in the files.
-Hiro is negotiating with Adam (simply putting him back in the casket) about who might have the formula. They go to a cantina (yes like in Star Wars) but Adam runs into someone he’s got a beef with who hits Hiro, knocking him out and allowing Adam to escape with Ando and Hiro now got to deal with the ruffians. The one, who can use fear as a power enhancer to his strength, catches Adam and reports to likely Daphne who was told to recruit him. They come to recruit Hiro and I got to say this twist sucks. Hiro is willing to join but the guy, “Knox” Benjamin Washington says to kill Ando who is useless since he’s got no powers. So to show them he’s badass, he KILLS ANDO using a sword! NOOOOO! I thought the romance was sketchy with our favorite geeky hero but this stinks even as some sacrifice.
-Claire thought she had the warp hole maker down but he’s trying to find his family and won’t stand down to go back to Level 5. He asks about if she works for Pinehurst or the Company, which she says no to either. He also says he got locked away for accidentally sending someone to one of his warp holes for good. She decides instead to help him now. Noah and Sylar show up and a warp hole is made, almost sucking in Claire until of all people Sylar saves her. Somehow this heroic Sylar is still not the character we want to hate as he keeps showing both sides; I wonder if this is a good choice considering he wasn’t lead villain last season as it was. Mr. Stephen Canfield as Noah calls him gets away. She meets up with him at the rendezvous point where his family doesn’t show and he thinks he’s a monster. Noah shows up again, asking him to kill Sylar for his family’s sake, but instead Mr. Canfield wishes to no longer be a monster, stripped of all he owned, so he uses his power on himself and disappears.
-Mohinder is one of the people who lost his way as Linderman puts an offer to her to form a new group to help lead them out of confusion. Meanwhile Mohinder comes back to Maya, dead drug dealer in hand. Oh his powers, he can now cast some sticky cocoons around prey like an insect. Maya finds out and tries to use her powers but Mohinder calms her down before putting his in a cocoon too.
-Speaking of killing people, Tracy admits to Nathan she is feeling hurt for accidentally killing the reporter, admitting it to him whom he retorts with how she cannot reveal the death, because he had the truth before and got shot and died before. He still waxes how God gave them these powers, which Tracy retorts back with the doctor she met in California. They visit Angela who admits the doctor worked on synthetic abilities, which Nathan also got via that process. This is the formula they talked about that Hiro is chasing, and someone wants to make the world this way.
-As the episode ends, Claire is sent home by Noah. I’m happy we DO see Sylar being bad as he is slowly manipulating Claire to his side, saying her father, powerless, doesn’t understand them but Sylar does. Meredith, who was out looking for Claire, gets caught in Eric Doyle’s power which is some form of body control (think blood bending from Avatar: The Last Airbender or a more powerful telekinesis). Angela is caught by another man in her dreams who she sees killing Nathan, Peter and Tracy in one fell swoop (Doyle too?) and she says she won’t be able to do anything since she can’t move. Daphne shows up to meet Linderman again for another recruit despite her disapproval and she also notes she could never sneak up on him, passing a hand through him to prove he’s not there (so is he a ghost people who died once but come back to life can see or is this another form of his powers?). Matt Parkman is her next recruit which she knows she has no choice but to get him too. We then see Matt’s FATHER back from the induced nightmare he was in during season 2. OK so it’s revealed HE’S the one putting images of a dead Linderman in their minds (hence why only a few people can see him) since he’s got Matt’s powers, but goes to a hospital to report of how the plan is moving along to recruit this new team…to PETER AND NATHAN’s FATHER, on life support in some bad condition! He’s our ultimate villain this episode!
Well even with a few bumps of late this payoff secret of the real villain works since Mr. Petralli was killed by the Company so revenge is a dish best served cold. Take care! |

| #113 Posted 2 months ago | Reply | Eugh no offence but the episode synopsis are getting really annoying and stifling discussion.
Anyone that's interested will watch the episode and know what happens.
What happened to Nathans wife? I'm probablt forgetting something really obvious but I don't remember her dying or anything.
As for the new episode [ WTF Hiro actually stabbed Ando. No, just no. C'mon I know the whole angle for this series is that every hero has a potential villain inside but that is just totally out of character.
Also does anyone else think that the scene in episode 3 with future Sylar is actually the creepiest he's ever been? Seriously just seeing him as a dad and quite normal freaked me out. ] |

Hiro would never kill his best friend so quickly.
and we didn't have much time to connect with future Sylar and his "son".
[ I was disappointed that Linderman is just an illusion, I hoped he was still alive ] |

| #115 Posted 2 months ago | Reply | I want Caitlin back! Not that she was that relevant to the plot or anything. It's just so much of Season two was centered around her and her stupid little pub that I have to know what happened. Now, I've heard the theory that because she was sent to a future that no longer exists, that she also ceases to exist as well. However, I think that the writers need to at least acknowledge that we're not going to see her again, and that Peter didn't just magically forget all about her over the course of an hour.
Also, in regards to "displaced characters", just what the hell ever happened to Claire's fly toy boy? I know for a fact that he didn't just get erased from the face of the earth like Caitlin. There's gotta be a story in there somewhere...why can't they just throw that in a random episode. "He left because of...". Anything will do, really. I don't care how long the explanation is, as long as there is a valid one. |

Also, In the episode "Dying of the Light"
[ Arthur Petrelli kills Adam by stealing his power, thus making Adam age back a couple hundred years. I liked Adam, he was a cool villain and the biggest threat of season 2. Although his death brought Arthur, who has an awesome power that is like a cross of Peter/Sylar's abilities, Adam just simply died like 10 minutes into the episode. I loved watching the witty, British, "immortal" go around and cause a mess. He deserved a better death. ]
Also...
[ If Adam Monroe is dead, wouldn't that make Angela Petrelli's 1st dream false. ] |

| #117 Posted 2 months ago | Reply | Well I’m noting with these reviews I’m getting less views or talk so wondering to those still reading them if I should continue, has the show jumped the shark and already gone down a dangerous path of losing interest (I’ve seen one reviewer, being a wrestling fan as well, go as far as saying the writing has gone the convoluted and boring path of the WWE -
Heroes compared to WWE ). I’m still watching but even I am not as enthusiastic to get up to review it at least. We shall see but your input is very much appreciated please. In the meantime of comments I have gotten, it seems that they’re not being taken too well so I’ll just give thoughts now in point form…sorry if I bored everyone with the review format…
HEROES Season 3-Chapter 6: Dying of the Light
[
-Well since I’m already in a sour mood (I got to be true, the comments about the reviews STIFLING discussion sucks since I do this for not one but a bunch of groups and sites…but I’ll also take it in stride and work on changing it like now, but got to work out the mood first…), I’ve been down on so much change to the show. Mohinder getting powers takes away from his original goals and changed him too much. Hiro getting paranoid leads to the very wrong killing of Ando (even if we found out this episode it was a fake stab to fool others…). Tracy is just missing something that Niki brought. The whole Petralli family IS taking up the show which I agree with the link I gave above. Claire has also lacked and no one likes Maya really. I know they’re trying to make it a showing of how they’re falling to the dark side, but then WHY in the world would you try to make Sylar GOOD again?! Hasn’t the writing staff seen taking Sylar out of his element doesn’t work?!
-Bringing a near dead Mr. Petralli back also hurts as it seems like such a cop out. His near dead body is recruiting an army? It just seems stupid to bring in the whole Petralli show to run the plot. As I watch on, now Adam is dust for Petralli to live?! I wonder if this is the Candice syndrome of killing a character off because plans changed from the original plot they had. You cannot do so much shock for the sake of shock and I said this even in Season 2. Everyone is linked to them now and that seems a bit too much for having each character shine. And has any other addition been any good? No because we get so little time to adjust to them other than Daphne really.
-I’ve given the show a lot of time to grow and took a lot of slamming for supporting season 2 but I guess I was wrong. This DOESN’T mean again I’ll stop watching…but it’s not as fun anymore, the honeymoon is over for now…it’s very much like Zero No Tsukaima for me, an anime that shined in Season 1 but through 2 more seasons and more to come, it’s made the same mistakes as Heroes too from changing characters too much to plainly not writing good plots or fights.
-Even the comedy lacks for breaking tension. The banter between Hiro and Ando is strained while the whole turtle guide is a bit cheesy for Matt.
And know what, if this is too long, tough. I’m thorough and got a lot to say sometimes. Deal with it, and sorry if it sounds upsetting but I am upset since I’ve been supporting and writing since day one and am in a sour mood…I’ll cool off for now and maybe as they say, cooler heads prevail but again, I am not to be ganged up upon and shouldn’t have to or else it’s no fun to even come and talk anymore…this is not for all places I type this for but it’s on my mind right now the disrespect I’m getting…I’ll also take some of it as constructive criticism but I feel a bit of it is unfair to have tossed at me as I was only trying to give a bit of recap to those who want refreshing of the plot as we talk added with normal commentary…well at least one thing made me laugh a bit this episode with a bonk as the painting said to Hiro…repeatedly, now THAT’s some of the lost comedy at least! And the bit with Claire’s moms and her caught by that new villain Doyle was cool too for Claire to shine under pressure. And FINALLY another fight between Peter and Sylar for once, even if it was too short once again. Maybe I need time off…sorry again but needed to blow off steam…bye for now…

I personally was expecting something more...well...Adam Monroe then that, if you know what I mean. Something delightfully Adam, like having his body pumped full of brandy until it exploded. In other words, something totally unlike the lame way he karked it in by Peter's dad's hand. That was just lame. |

But I’d like to categorize this week’s thoughts and discussion as GOOD and BAD. Not heroes or villains, but by the way some things are moving along on Heroes.
GOOD
-Around the END of the episode we FINALLY got one thing we anticipated: Sylar being evil once more thanks to Arthur Petralli. But he reminds me too much of Venom of Spider-man’s world: we want him so badly as a villain, and when he does good deed/is a hero it feels wrong. Some characters are just only feasible in the darkness, as villains. Not everyone is Zuko from Avatar where you can get away with him playing both roles of good and evil throughout a story. I hope the writers figured this out and keep Sylar on his rightful place. You can make characters multi-dimensional but stop flip flopping them from good and bad for the sake of shock because it’s more confusion. Mohinder is in this conundrum too, but in the opposite way of being a better good human than an evil mad scientist similar to Lizard of Spider-man.
-I do like a new seer like the one in Africa to replace losing Isaac from Season 1. Meredith being around and used a bit more is also nice for Season 1 continuity sakes.
-By the way the title of this episode is in Latin, Eris Quod Sum, and I checked thanks to the episode review link above that it means "You will be what I am". I still enjoy how the title can help explain most of the episode still.
BAD
-Is it me or is this cast of villains not that cool? Sylar, Adam Munroe and Elle were a much more fun group of villains than Knox (the guy who feeds off fear), Maury Parkman (who is a good villain but seems like a flunky now, Doyle (puppet master), the other Level 5 inmates and of course, Arthur Petralli. We even root for villains if they offer a cool image of the darkness, and I just don’t get that feeling with most of them if any. I know they’ll lead to how a guy who used to have no powers and was dead is now the leading villain, but it seems not as believable or interesting.
-Um, injecting super powers can make some sense but then I get a bad feeling like how it was done on another huge franchise: Star Wars. Midichlorians anyone?
-Finally seems like we get a lot more talk and action in too few spurts. I get we’re delving into characters but do we need emo from Sylar, Hiro, Peter, Claire and so forth?
Alright so hope that’s the right length now and with enough insight. Take care. |

I felt that Maya and Mohinder's story was quite clunky, but I could look over it. I also would like to see Arthur use more abilitys other than electricity and telekenis (uses radioactive explosiveness). I do like how Daphne and Matt's relation is going, fake but interesting. Knox and Flint's characters are being wasted, like the German who was just killed. Hiro's story is getting boring. Other than that, it was an interesting episode filled with many holes and bland development. |
