| #3 Posted 1 year ago | Reply | | I disagree. They're a very VERY good dubbing company, and I do LOVE their dubs. But my favourite dubbing company is ViZ. But Funimation are awsome and I love they're Dragonball, Z, GT, and Fullmetal Alchamist dubs, and I look forward to their dub of One Piece... oh you have NO idea how much I'm looking forward to that... hopefully it'll come to England... hopefully... |

| #6 Posted 1 year ago | Reply | | I think Funimation did a great job with Fruits Basket. I dislike Viz, for what they did to Death Note. They did a good job with Inuyasha even though they sucked with the translating it. |

Viz is better than tokyopop and 4kids, but I still don't really like their dubs.
In fact, to me they made the fullmetal alchemist a lot better than the japanese version. Especially how they fixed Edward, as they gave him a more appropriate voice and name. |

| #9 Posted 1 year ago | Reply | Funimation IS pretty good. Out of all the dubs I've heard, theirs are consistently well-done. I have a soft spot for ADV films though.
Geneon/Pioneer has done both Hellsings, so that's a plus...their dubs are a bit inconsistent. Gankutsuou wasn't that bad.
Manga's a bit spotty, Viz is eh (but Bleach is pretty well-acted), Bandai dubs sound lifeless for the most part (with the exception of Cowboy Bebop, of course). |

On topic though, I agree Funimation is a great anime dubbing company. I liked the Dragonball Z dubs. |

| #13 Posted 1 year ago | Reply | | I'm sorry but the DBZ dub was just horrible. Of all the Funimation dubs that I've heard the only dub of their's that I liked was the Full Metal Alchemist one. I hope their One Piece dub is good but I really doubt it. |

All the names are left the same, the scripts are pretty close to the Japanese ones. So what's wrong with it?! "Naruto's voice is SO high pitched!" Well so what? ViZ have a lot of respect for the Japanese company that made Naruto and Japanese culture. Just because a character doesn't sound exactly the way you want him/her to doesn't mean it's a bad dub! "But he says 'Believe it!' all the time!" aaaaaand what's wrong with that? The only reason they did that was because people wouldn't understand "dattebayo". Infact because SO many people are complaining about that they've stopped making him say "Believe it" in the dub now! Happy now?! "All the blood is gone!" And what's wrong with that? Funimation also edit out most of the blood in their dubs, or at least in Dragonball Z, but they BOTH leave at least SOME of the blood it! At least all the Sexy Jutsu's are left in! And all the Kanji in the background is left in, any Kanji that needs to be read is translated! Okay, say they fixed all this. Say they left in all the blood and changed Naruto's voice. Would you people be happy then? No you wouldn't. Because they're still speaking Enlish aren't they? No wait a minute... asides for Naruto's voice they DID fix it, they've brought out uncut DVDs with all the stuff that people cry about left in and people STILL whine about it! Personally I think everyone's being babies about the Naruto dub. ViZ are constantly trying to change it to please all of you that cry about it, but nomatter what they do you STILL complain about it. In my opinion it's good, and that's my opinion, I'm not changing it and I don't expect anyone to change their's, but for the love of God let me have my own opinion instead of saying I have to be smoking something to like the Naruto dub! |

I'm a hardcore Naruto sub fan but I can still watch the newer episodes of the dub without my ears bleeding, sure there are voices that I don't agree with but that's to be expected with any dub. |
