Hmm... I always thought because there's four elements there would be four series arcs... but hey, Avatar's always full of surprizes.

A book for every element he needs to master, he already knew Air.

Supposing that Fire is the last season, and they finish off the story arc within it, I hope the creators know to leave well enough alone. Its possible that there are other good stories to tell, but it seems to be that the longer a show drags on the worse it gets. I don't want that for Avatar.

I liked Invader Zim, but that's because beforehand, Jhonen Vasquez was my GOD.

Paranoid, I meant a new Avatar series with completely new characters without any relation to Katara, Aang, Sokka, Zuko, etc.

(Well, maybe Aang since he IS the avatar)

I suppose its conceivable that it could work. But the cynic in me says that it would more likely result in a YGO Gx kind of situation (which some people like, so there you have it). I wouldn't at all mind a new idea that came from the same team. That would be nice.

As long as this season is good, I'll be a happy camper. It would be cool for the creators to have another project to do for Nick so that way, I have an actual reason to continue to watch Nick.

I can't confirm it, but I've heard somewhere that Nick renewed Avatar to a sixth season- you notice in all these press releases, they've always said that the "story arc" would finish with the third season, not "series". Again, don't hold me to it, I've just heard it

I find it doubtful that they'd have gone that far in advance...given how far behind they were even just making the third season (hint: new epsodes of season two had started in, y'know, July). I realize that they could make more storylines. I'm jsut of the opinion that it might be better if they didn't. If they've tied the story into a nice little package, then let it lie.

Hey, you never know, maybe he gets smashed hard on the head and forgets it. XD kidding.

Well I just thought, maybe it could be a book on discovering more on the Air Tribe... or something like that... XP

I think they've gone as far into depth on that as they will; we've confirmed that the Airbenders are all extinct, after all. Save for Aang. And after that very depressing and powerful scene in The Southern Air Temple (103?) it seems unlikely that they'd squeeze a story out of them NOT being gone after all.

Well Aang & Katara are probably gonna have a kid and make it an Airbender because if Aang Dies as "The Last Airbender" then the next Waterbending Avatar won't master Air. Then the people in Avatar can start singing "It's a Screwed World After All! It's a Screwed World After All! It's a Screwed World After All! It's a Screwed, Screwed World!!!"

Meh, at least I'm using a bit of imagination when it comes to the matter. Doesn't hurt to be open minded. XD

I don't mean to be a COMPLETE downer about it all (somewhat? yes I do). I've just been embittered by too many shows gone bad.

Well, when they did announce a film trilogy for Avatar, I also thought "Hey, maybe if there is only three movies, then there's only three arcs. (Water, Earth, Fire Books)" But then again, Paramount never did say exactly that the real creators would be in a major part of the live-action movies but who knows. I think that the third season might be the last and well, perhaps a spin-off of the show in the future? XD Probably not but can't imagine that they would just make three seasons and end it for good.

As for the whole Air benders gone extinct thing, they should probably just leave it at that and let the audience create their own conclusion whether or not they still are alive somewhere. I mean, personally it would make the show more interesting and deep.

Avatar is surprisingly good for psuedo-anime, I started watching it with low expectations but it's actually not bad, looking forward to the next season.

Avatar will probably end after season 3. Ah well, it was a mind blowing show while it lasted.

Doesn't seem... even, to end it at season 3, you may be right, but the "books" (seasons) are named after the elements, so logically, there should be 4 seasons.

Already explained: one book for every element Aang has to master, thusly excluding air.

I hadn't heard that there were due to be three movies. Only the one. Is there a news article you could refer me to? I'd be interested to learn more...

I always imagined there'd be four seasons as well. The first three would deal with learning the three elements he didn't know, and the final one would be the Big Confrontation with the Fire Lord.

Or alternatively, the bossfight would be at the end of season three, and season four (Air) would be about getting the Air tribe going again (whether by finding some lost members, teaching people from other tribes, or having children -- though the last seems a bit unlikely). After all, without a tribe of Airbenders somewhere then the Avatar Cycle can't continue...

I found the article on Wikipedia but here's the source where it came from.

Not sure if it's reliable though. =/ I heard Shyamalan wasn't that bad of a director but who knows. Like I said, it may or may not be loosely based on the Avatar cartoon, depending if the creators are in to it.

Interesting. I think I'll wait until casting/fliming starts at least before venturing an opinion. Shyamalan's done good work before. Perhaps this will be a return to form?

I like Shyamalan movies. For me, Lady in the Water was the best. Then again, I've always been a sucker for a good fantasy movie and/or book.

Haven't seen Lady in the Water, but I was severely disappointed by The Village. most severely.

Yeah, The Village wasn't all the great. I was freaked out by Signs, but I very much enjoyed Lady in the Water.

Lemme see...a horror movie director directing a Supernatural Martial Arts Movie based on a kickass kids show...why doesn't this add up well?

Well, look at it this way: Any and all scenes involving Blue Spirit stealthy-ness have the potential to be super special awesome. Suspense and all that. And the brainwashing in Ba Sing Se. Everything else....eh, who knows.

Well, even if the director seems to be not in the right style, I really do hope the real creators of the show will be involved. After all, they are the masterminds behind this great series. If they are, I'll be looking forward to it. Otherwise, I'll wait until further notice.

And w00t, the third season is coming soon. =D

I think he'll be fine. I can't wait for the movie! And for the new season to air!
