This isn't a sugguestion or a criticism, but would anyone prefer YGO TAS if it had backround music in certain parts of the episode? Providing it was at a decent volume i.e. both music and dialogue were audible with neither being loud enough to obscure the other, could it help the series seem more proffessional? Or is proffesionalism like that a bit too much for a parody? Thoughts?

#6   Posted 1 year ago in Thought for the week...
Basically, my explorer scout leader comes up with these dumb thought for the week things, and whilst most of them are cheesy or lame, I thought this one sparked a thought of comedy:

"Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all week"

I think the thought 'Hehe it's funny cause it's true' also comes to mind with that...

This may be a pointless thread but really I can't think of anything else less out of the bounds of 'Off-topic', so if you have your own thought for the week then open your mind in the figurative sense so we can reflect on how life's treated you this week...

#5   Posted 1 year ago in Anime fans you may find this interesting...
Now, I barely listen to rap, and when it comes to Kanye West it's a big never. But in Italy, MTV was all I had to watch so I made do with whatever video they played.
But when Kanye West's video Stronger was on, I couldn't beleive what I was seeing. The fact the video is set in Japan and uses a large amount of subtitled Katakana wasn't surprising since Japan is a good setting for music videos. What did surprise me was this:

The simalarity is no accident, as scenes of the video are based on the anime classic Akira. I don't know if this is well known in the anime community, but since no one in the forums had pointed it out yet I thought it best to show it.

It's interesting to see how mainstream anime is getting, now that music videos are paying tribute to them, some are even taking it that step further by being anime themselves e.g. The Breaking the Habit video, animated by Studio GONZO, known in the West for their animated sequence in Kill Bill.

Turns out no more than 4 days after the release of my website (correct me if I'm wrong) MasokoX, co-creator of Naruto: Abridged, has had his channel 'suspended'. Suppose it's not too much of a surprise considering he had every episode of the series removed, but once again it shows that:
A. The novelty of seeing the series in it's birth place is gone.
B. That some people really have nothing better to do than flag.
Unfortunetly, whilst having a considerably large fanbase, I fear that there won't be enough complaints to sway youtube to unsuspend the account as it was when LK's account got suspended.

#3   Posted 1 year ago in What would make a good MMOG?
Taking good examples like Star Wars Galaxies, to mixed games like The Matrix Online, to what will be a disastrous example in Pirates of the Carribean online, which series do you think WOULD translate well into an online game?

I'd put my money on a Transformers MMORPG. It would work in a similar way to World of Warcraft. You'd obviously have two factions, Autobots and Deceptecons. Instead of races, you choose what vehicle your transformer would...transform into. E.g. Autobots would have Trucks, Cars, planes and Deceptecons would have Tanks, Bikes and Helicopters to name a few (I guess they could also make a Beat Wars expansion). Then, you'd have classes, such as weather your transformer would concentrate on hand guns, automated weapons, heavy weapons, rifles, healing or special abilities or hand to hand combat.
Each class would have their own unique abilites, for example heavy weapons would have high stamina, rifle units could have a minicon (a smaller transformer, seen in Armada) and handgun units could weild multiple weapons.
I don't know if the combat should be real time third person shooter style combat or mabe more of an RPG style fighting like Star Wars Galaxies or The Matrix online, you can voice your opinions on that.
Naturally, since it's series based, you'd have all the characters from the various series; i.e. Optimus, Megatron, StarScreen, Bumblebee, Jetfire and Unicron, with quests based on the series storylines.

Thats my idea, anyone got any of the top of their heads?

Whilst most critics and film buffs were iffy on this movie, I thought it was a great work of cinema. Before I went to see it, I thought 'Oh great, another Armegeddon rip-off, just like the Core', but no, I was surprised at how original it was.

Some of the cinematic techniques (as a drama student I'm prone to notice this stuff) blew me away. When they find the second craft and board it, we see random flashes of a person on screen. You wonder if your just seeing things, in fact I confirmed if he was there with the person sitting next to me, and while most people didn't get this, later the whole significance of it is just...wow.

The CGI was great. I know every film these days uses CGI, but this one really made use of the money.

I also thought that, whilst it shared most cliches with films like this such as all the people dying one by one and with one or two making stupid sacrifices (they even thought about pulling straws...NO!), they way all the characters are isolated, and how we don't see any other human beings till the end, really got the blood pumping and made the horror/thriller element all the more powerful.

Which joke in TAS do you think really stands out because of it's originality and the way it's never been used before. I thought the Spanish dub openin of episode 9 was fantastic. I don't know if everyone got it, but it's definetly my favourite in the series. Now whenever someone comes to talk with my mates and I, I always frighten them off saying: "What new devilry is this? Ah it's the [Insert name here]! [INH] Has entered the friendship!"
