Yes, this isn't a joke.
Apparently a talented independent filmmaker named Eddie Lebron set out this year to create a feature length movie based on Megaman and today they just released the first trailer.
Looks like someone is about to give Hollywood a run for its money!
Why can't other Hollywood made video game movies look this damn good?
They are keeping with the actual original story from the games, but instead of making it about Rock vs. Wily, it seems more about Light vs. Wily which I think is an excellent idea....
The level of quality and production seen in the trailer is amazing for someone with no budget. The CGI alone on Cutman is really damn good...
And yes, the movie does indeed have Protoman in it!
Apparently he plans on releasing it to the internet in a couple months for free and I can't wait...
Hey guys...
Long time, no post from your friendly neighborhood Spider-Kroze!
We've been all pretty busy lately and we all apologize for the lack of news updates on the site.
Several new things are coming down the line and we hope to have them ready for public consumption very soon (including new episodes...).
This past weekend a bunch of us on the staff hit up Nekocon in Hampton, VA for the 2nd year in a row.
For those of you who remember, Nekocon was our first con we ever hit up with the Abridged Series and were more then glad to make a return trip there this year. Possibly one of the friendliest cons I have ever seen.
We had an amazing turn out for both our panel and 2nd season screening and I thank everyone who came for attending to watch us ramble on for an hour or so about random stuff! You guys are awesome fans!
Special mentions to our completely awesome Duke Devlin and Dark Magician Girl who helped us out
Hopefully soon we will be able to put up the video of the panel itself so everyone that couldn't make it can also see what went down there as well.
Again, thanks to everyone who showed up and said hello. Hope to see you all on the forums sometime!
Speaking about conventions, there is another one coming up soonish that some of the site staff are attending called MAGFEST, January 1st through 4th in Alexandria, VA.
MAGFEST is centered around video games and music... and its less like an actual convention and more so like a weekend long party with some really chill people with concerts every night from kickass bands like The Megas, Powerglove, Armcannon, and Select Start.
Also several video game industry guests like Tommy Tallarico, Howard Drossin and Richard Jacques (pronounced "Jakes") will be there just hanging around talking to peeps.
Not to mention they have a REALLY awesome video ad that kicks so much ass:
If you are anywhere in the area then you should come and join us! It would be great to meet more Abridged fans!
Finally, a little birdie told me that Episode 31 is just right around the corner so those of ye who've been waiting for some Abridged Series goodness for the past two months won't be waiting too much longer!
Now that Otakon is over, I have no hesitation for putting this here (Recorded by WarkedChocobo):
DW punches Kroze in the face!
Yes, I know... horrible pun but someone had to make it and I figured it might as well be me!
Anyway, this weekend ends the gauntlet of conventions we are attending with Otakon in Baltimore, Maryland!
And what better way to celebrate the end of this 3 week hell run then to premiere a BRAND NEW SHIRT at Otakon?
Thats right.... the lovely Jojo (Who will also have her own booth located at A6 selling her very own book!) made time out of her extremely busy schedule to make yet another shirt design just for Otakon!
What is this shirt you ask? Well, BEHOLD!
Front:
Back:
Yep, the "Kids These Days" shirt that many of you have been requesting has been done and will be at Otakon!
You say you are not able to make it out to Otakon? Well don't fret! If the shirt does well enough and the demand for it is high enough, it may pop up in our lovely online Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Series store!
Along with "Kids These Days" we will also have ourclassicthree shirts along with two of the new batch, "Destroy the World" and the awesome Underling-ling made shirt: "Catapult Turtle Gambit" with us as well.
Seeing as how this IS Otakon, don't expect all the shirt designs to stick around in stock all weekend so if you know you want one, buy it immedately since they WILL go fast.
We will be located at the Snafu Comics booth in the Artist Alley, sharing it with some n00b named Dave.
We will also be located around a guy who got robbed out of a win by Lucario in Brawl and a silly Canadian who somehow manages to bowl a FORTY.... so you may want to say hello to them as well if you have the chance and mock them for failing so hard (Extra points if you randomly go up to either of them and ask "Are you Bleedman?").
For those of you who were at Comic Con San Diego and Conneticon these past two weekends, you may have noticed we were giving out Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Series flyers that looked like black and white versions of this:
This lovely piece of art was done by the awesome BAM, girlfriend of the Pokemon-X webcomic creator ReconDye (Yes, I finally linked your goddamn comic Recon... HAPPY?) who will be assisting us on a new and SECRET project that you will all be seeing the first fruits of within the next few weeks (And if you are at Otakon this weekend... you may be seeing it a whole lot sooner... ;P)!
And finally, those of you who are completely in love with the full color flyer by BAM, for those of you who buy two shirts this weekend at our booth, you will be entered into a drawing for a full color poster sized version of it at Otakon!
Man, I REALLY do like celebrating! :P
After this weekend is over, expect us to return to our normal routine of Caption Contests and Videos (and for me to die of lack of sleep), the next of which will be a special Comic Con video and Cr@psule Monsters 2 (finally!)! Be on the lookout for those over the next couple of weeks along with the announcement of our SECRET project!
Now if you'll excuse me, I think I hear my CODEC ringing... could be Otacon with new information on why Naomi is a total whore... srsly...
See ya this weekend!
P.S. in my last news post, I posted a picture of the group of all the moderators together and I stupidly didn't realize that Tanya (AKA CowHatNinja) was in the background there due to a lack of sleep. Sorry about that Tanya! <3
Cause I know where I am gonna be!
In Hartford, Connecticut for CONNECTICON '08 in our own Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Series booth!
If you are coming you should stop on by and give me lovin or something of the sort...
Yes, I am that desperate...
Also we MAY have some of the new and exciting shirts from our wonderful Abridged Series store with us (and possibly a con exclusive surprise too!).
Connecticon will also be the first time our resident Godzilla lover and araharu (yeah, I couldn't think up anything witty to say for you... blame Heavy!) will be joining us at a convention so come on by and say hello!
(Did I mention how desperate I am yet? Cause I am... very... no mommy, please don't put me back in the closet!)
And then next weekend for all of you who will be down in Baltimore for Otakon, Snafu Dave and I will be sharing a booth in the Artist Alley together... as well as premiering a BRAND NEW SHIRT there (Its one that people have been asking for a long time now...).
Our trip to Comic Con (To which there will be a long and boring writeup about this... hopefully not by me, later on.) this year has worn me out big time so I think I shall depart for now, but I shall leave you with a little something to mock all you poor unfortunate souls who could not make it out to San Diego:
P.S. If you haven't watched Dr. Horrible yet then SHAME ON YOU! Don't come back here till you finish!
Kroze super secret special edit: Connecticon Challenge
If anyone comes to the booth this weekend at Connecticon and can sing a full song from Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog in front of everyone without messing up, I will give them a FREE T-SHIRT!
Offer is ONLY valid while I am manning the booth!
So, Joss Whedon (Of Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Astonishing X-Men, Toy Story and Titan A.E. fame) got bored during the writers strike and came up with his own musical made for the internet!
Starring Neil Patrick Harris and Nathan Fillion
So far just Act 1 is up but its completely brilliant and the production quality for a internet show is amazing!
And yes I am aware that this is not exactly a "Television" show but there really is no other classification for something like this.
Act 2 comes out tomorrow.
Anyone else following this?
As I am sure that some of you are aware, today is the second anniversary of Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Series!
It was two years ago today LK put out Episode 1: Pilot, thus setting the course for a series of events that would change the way people would view Yu-Gi-Oh!
It was also one year ago on this day that this very site opened up for its first batch of users to sign up and begin tormenting us!
I would like to say thanks on all the site staff's behalf along with LK's on supporting the series and this site for the past 2 years.
Without you guys, none of this would of ever happened!
And to help celebrate this occasion, TitanAura has made us a video tribute to the series and the site:
Not to mention that all of these shirts along with the previous ones are also currently carried in GIRLS SHIRTS!
I know we were getting a lot of requests for those!
Also we have the comedy band I work with called Random Gibberish also have our CD "Erin's Cup of DOOM!" up for sale in the store as well!
If you are a fan of geeky humor and catchy songs then I highly recommend you check it out!
Anyway, all of us are busy preparing for San Diego Comic Con which is in a week and a half!
If you are planning to come then post in this news comments to let us know!
Once again thanks to all the Abridged Series fans out there and here's to another 2 years of Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Series goodness!
Oh wow... its been awhile since I got to make a news post (And for good reason, the last time I did, it made people start bleeding from their eyes... I admit NOTHING!) and boy did I miss this...
Today I have a number of things to go over so sit right back and grab a chair as I ramble on and on. Kay?
Two weeks ago I ended up being kidnapped from my home in Jersey by twocompleteidiots and dragged to a place known as AnimeNext for the weekend along with a stockpile of shirts.
Lots of crazy shenanigans followed such as meeting variouscrazycosplayers....
And then stumbling across a complete Season 1 showing of YGO:TAS that they just happened to be showing... Many thanks to the con staff who let me barge in and disrupt the natural order that night to throw out some announcements! Also welcome to any new Abridged Series fans that may of been introduced to the series through that showing and hope you stick around on the site!
While there I ran across a couple good friends of mine such as Dave Lister of Paradox Lost fame as well as Chris Malone from Blue and Blond. Always awesome to see them.
Also ran into the crew of the Mad Gear store who gladly let us sell our box of extra shirts at their booth.... and from now on, will be helping to carry Abridged Series shirts at cons that we can't make it to! Aren't they such nice guys?
After meeting up with some awesome of the fans after the Abridged showing and all going out to a bar (unlike the FAIL BAR we have on the site) three of us decided to go on a trip at 2 am to find the legendary White Castle that was in the area... but unfortunately it ended up not existing.... THE WHITE CASTLE IS A LIE! so a pair of Things and I headed to the nearest IHOP instead. Twas a very enlightening experience to say the least!
All in all the convention was a complete blast and I am glad I ended up going at last second.
Next year you can be SURE to see us at AnimeNext is a more "official" presence! :P
Just be sure you stay away from Thing 1 and Thing 2..... x.x
Pure EVIL I tell ya!
Speaking of cons in the future, this brings us to our next thing on the agenda! UPCOMING CONS!
This upcoming weekend if you are in the LA area and going to Anime Expo, I would suggest you stop on by Booth #545 which is the Mad Gear booth since they will be carrying Abridged Series shirts for those of you who have been too scared to order them online!
Also the always incredible edible Dave Stanworth of Snafu Comics will also be attending in the Artist Alley so if you are there, go say hello to him, bring him food or something, and if you ordered a shirt and haven't recived it yet you can go there and bug the crap outta him!
Its ok, he's use to it by now!
In a few weeks, a bunch of the site staff (including possibly LK... possibly... hopfully...) will all be attending Comic Con San Diego together from July 23rd to the 27th! More news on that as well as who will be attending and possible Abridged users meetup will be posted soonish.
And then to finish off the summer hell run of conventions, Otakon will be happening at the Baltimore convention center August 8th through the 10th at which we will be sharing a booth with Snafu Comics, right across from theseidiots. Do I hear whispers of some super special awesome secret convention exclusive merchandise? I THINK SO!
Also at Otakon there will be a showing of Season 1 of YGO:TAS for those of you who aren't tired of seeing it over and over again on the site and want to watch it in a room with likeminded indivduals! I am sure many scared congoers like myself will be terrified at the unison calls of "IN AMERICA!!" coming from the depths of the video room!
Finally on the list, I have saved the best for last...
Next week Shark Robot will be holding a MASSIVE preorder for a bunch of new gear... Including BRAND NEW ABRIDGED SERIES SHIRTS!!
Now I could be mean and just leave you with that tease but no...
Here is your first glimpses of all the new shirt designs coming out from our side!
The first two come to us from two different sources then all the rest of the shirts so far....
Anytime Is A Good Time To Destroy The World:
This shirt was done by a good friend of mine, CelesJessa who is an incredible artist! You should go check out her work sometime!
Catapult Turtle Gambit:
By our very own lovable, dishes doing Moderator, Underling-ling
Front:
Back:
These following two were both done by the always awesome resident YGO:TAS shirt artist Jojo
I'm Not A Freaky Fish Guy:
Front:
Back:
And then finally, BROOKLYN RAGE!!!:
Also there will be a new button set featuring those four designs AND a special button designed by Snafu Dave: "REAL Men Play Childrens Card Games!".
So look for that coming within the next week or so!
And now its late and teh Krozey is very tired so I must bid you all a fond farewell for now!
Super Sneaky Surprise Edit:
For those of you at Anime Expo right now the Snafu Comics booth is in the #1300 row next to VG Cats. Stop on by and give Dave a muffin, will ya?
