Because use of the deathnote on the sabbath is wrong.
I (Eia) AM NOT THE GAME MASTER.
Do not PM me unless you ARE the Game Master. (see below)
Killing has never been so much fun, dive into the world of Deathnote by playing the Deathnote: Forum Game.
Basic Concept
The game is divided into rounds. A round is ended when either Kira is voted out, L dies, or everyone other than L and Kira die. Simple, no? The game style is a lot like the actual show where everything is a mystery. After every round the game master will assign a new cast of characters are chosen and people will play them out accordingly. Each round will be divided into turns, the number of turns is determined by however long Kira/L live or if everyone dies.
[Rules <-----VERY IMPORTANT, READ BEFORE POSTING.
1) The rules can be changed at anytime if a situation appeals for it.
2) L and Kira cannot work together.
3) The shinigami cannot work for L and the Mayor cannot work for Kira. If you do you will be banned from the game and added to the "hall of shame."
3) Keep conversation focused on playing the game, it may stray, but not too far.
4) The winner/honorable mentions win the fabulous "Hall of Killing Spree Fame."
5) All votes are posted on this thread except for special role votes (Kira)
6) Roles are randomly selected by the game master at the start of the round. You will be PMed with your title. If you do not get a role, you ar a citizen. Play your role, and don't tell anyone else your title. Citizens have triads, a group of 3 people with whom they work together and share information.
7) Each turn everyone (including kira and the shinigami) will vote on who they think Kira is. The person with the most votes at the end of the round dies. Even if you are dead, you may still vote, but special rules come into play.
8) Each round requires at least 10 people to start, and a maximum of 30 people.
9) All pms concerning this game should have DN: TFG in their title. This makes it so the gamemaster knows which pms are from the game.
10) If you are inactive from Deathnote: TFG game for longer than 48 hours the gamemaster can decide to kick you from the game.
Please tell me if I (EIA) have missed any rules or should take any out. This has been recopied many times and may have original gameplay errors.
ROLES
Kira
The mass murder. You'll PM the gamemaster every turn on who will die and how. If the person you want dead is killed by the folk, the Shinigami chooses who dies. This role is assigned to whoever is the Shinigami.
If Kira is possessed, no information is given.
Shinigami
You decide who Kira will be by private messaging the gamemaster who it will be, then the gamemaster PMs them. You do not die. If Kira is unable to kill someone, you decide who else dies. You vote, and the gamemaster will flip a coin three times and if all three are heads (Mathmatically giving you a 13% chance) then your vote replaces the ghost's vote. The Shinigami is going to want to keep Kira alive. Your title is revealed, but it's not like that effects anything since you can't die. Vote publicly in this thread, people can use your vote to their advantage and information.
The Shinigami can not be possessed.
L
Each round, you can tell the gamemaster who you think Kira is through private message. If you're right, you win. If you're wrong the gamemaster tells Kira one person who isn't L, so tread carefully.
Mayor
You are publicly announced in the game. Three times during a round, you can stop the people from killing someone by PMing the gamemaster that you will stop it this turn. The third time you do this, the crowd is upset at your rulings and you die instead.
Detective
You're basically a mini-L, sort of. If you think you know who either L or Kira is, you can PM the gamemaster. If you're wrong, whatever, the only down is that you have to one turn before doing it again. If you're correct, the gamemaster tells L or Kira you found out, and they can do as they please. (You decide which person to tell. If you inform L, you get to be the mayor next round. If you inform Kira, you get to be the shinigami.)
Police Chief
Every turn, you can interrogate someone. By interrogate, you tell the gamemaster who you want to know more about and he/she reveals who they are. If either is Kira or L, you obtain no information. You can reveal this information publicly, but if you do, your title is shown.
You can also arrest three people every other turn, which prevents them from voting.
Protector
Each turn, you choose to guard one person that isn't yourself from the mob-beating. If that person is voted out, you can save them, but your title is revealed. YOU DO NOT PROTECT WHOEVER IS VOTED OUT IN GENERAL, JUST ONE PERSON YOU CHOSE.
Murderer
Every turn, you can choose to murder someone. You have a 20% chance of killing them, and a 50% chance of wounding them. (If someone is wounded, they can't vote for a turn.) However, you also have a 10% chance of being caught. In which case, you are killed. Not only that, but the Police Chief's identity is shown. If you kill two people in a round without being caught, Kira will be unable to kill you if and only if you kill who Kira tells you to kill. The same results apply.
-------------------------------------
18 PEOPLE OR MORE
Lawyer
You PM the gamemaster telling him/her that you want to defend the person being voted out that turn. He/she flips a coin. If heads, you win the case, and the person is saved. Not only that, but if that person has a role, out of gratitude for saving you, they let you control their role for one turn. If they don't have a role, you control their vote next turn, meaning they can't vote, but your vote counts for two. If tails, they still die, and you have a 10% chance of dying yourself. If you lose three times, you lose your role.
Doctor
If someone is wounded, you can heal them with a 50% chance of success. If you succeed, you can control their role for one turn. If you fail, the wound gets worse. If you fail three times, you lose your role. You can also revive the dead by choosing who you want to revive with a 10% chance of success. If you fail, nothing happens. If you succeed, you can never be voted out by the town people.
Town Fanatic
The Fanatic starts off the game knowing all the roles except for Kira and L. He/she can do what ever he/she wants with this info. The Town Fanatic is revealed at the end of every Friday round by disrupiting the highh school football game.
----------------------------------------
30 PEOPLE (MAX)
Assassin
Once per round you can kill one person with no sacrifice. If the Police Chief interrogates you, you are sent to jail, interrogated by the CIA and secretly killed and your body is thrown into the ocean.
Debt Collector
Every day, you may control up to two people's role. (Not Kira or L, if the person is a townsperson, your vote counts for two/three.) You can only only use this power twice a week.
----------------------------------------
When anyone dies, they turn into a:
Ghosts
You vote just as normal as other people do, but the all the ghosts vote has a 20% chance getting replaced by the Shinigami's vote. |Once per turn, a ghost can chose to possess anyone and control them for one turn, the appropriate owner of that title unable to do anything. The next turn, you are unable to vote/possess.| <- May use later
We also have
Citizens
Citizens are role-less.
Each townsperson is given two people that are also townspeople, forming triangles of knowledge as the two I give you also know each other and you.
If eight townspeople PM the game master, they can force-interrogate someone. (Because you can, and it's free!) The first person that reaches the game master decides who to interrogate. This interrogation is done publicly. Kira is NOT hidden, but L is. If the person interrogated is Kira, he dies, and the game is over.
and
Suicidal Maniac
You choose to kill yourself. When you do, the gamemaster randomly selects one person and he/she reveals their title to you. (L or Kira is a possibility.) Without saying their name or avatar in any way, you can write a suicide note saying anything you want, PREFERABLY ABOUT THE INFORMATION YOU HAVE. This role can be preformed by anyone at anytime.
When you're dead BECAUSE OF SUICIDE, the Shinigami has no power over you. You vote every turn and you can possess every other turn if or if not the Shinigami's power is activated.
-----------------------------------------
SUCCESSOR RULE (30 PEOPLE ONLY.)
If Kira/L is one of the first 5 (for under 20) or 10(over 20) people to die, no matter what turn it is, they choose a successor out of anyone. If they formally had a role, they lost it. If that person is Kira, when that person is chosen, they make a death on that same turn. (AKA the turn the original Kira died.) If one of them had a successor, so will the other, no matter how many deaths there have been. There is only ONE successor in a game for both L and Kira. If the successor is the current Kira/L, then the successor rule is inactive and Kira still dies.
So as you can see, you either want L to succeed or Kira.
