| #4 Posted 3 weeks ago in Fahrenheit 451 | | I\'m sure a lot of people have heard about this classic, but has anyone taken the time to read it? The book is about a man named Montag living in a dystopian city where books are burned and considered illegal to have. The so called \"firemen\" in the book actually START fires, not put them out. Anyone who enjoys a good dose of psychology or just a good story should check this out. And for those who want to discuss it...:D

[ What did you all think of the book? Was it awesome? I find the fact that the book is completely ironic and contradictory to be amusing. You\'re reading a book about a world where books are illegal. They question the very reasons why books are read. Why DO we read books? \"What traitors books can be! You think theyre backing you up, and they turn on you. Others can use them too, and there you are, lost in the middle of the moor, in a great welter of nouns and verbs and adjectives\". Beatty might have been a nut, but...
What\'s the point if they offend everyone? Do you think Montag stayed with those group of people at the end or went out on his own again to try and convince others of what was going on?
Personally, this is my favorite quote. \"Behind each of these books, theres a man. Thats what interests me. I\'m interested in Humanity...how they think, act, and their society. Not to mention, Montag also stated Maybe the books can get us out of the cave. They just might stop us from making the same damn mistakes. I believe without books, humanity will pretty much get screwed over and the society could end up as horrible as the one in Fahrenheit 451. ]
So what\'s everyone\'s thoughts on this? Can we get a discussion going? Or do I have to send the mechanical hounds after you all...? Heheheheh... |

What's it about, you ask?
It's about a demon with a giant bird head that devours mysteries? How does he do that? Well, it's a mystery in itself. Find out in the first episode. (It's kinda creepy...)

I have to admit the description on there isn't really eye-catching, so I'll give one to you.
After he's eaten all the mysteries in hell, he goes up to earth to eat more mysteries. But he has to conceal his identity as a demon!! Therefore, he forces a schoolgirl named Yako to become a private investigator. Sounds totally weird, right?
It is. And the anime is awesome. Come take a look at the first episode! I DARE YOU!!

Higurashi is an emotional dramatic thriller with an amazing story and has overall been rated excellent, followed up by masterpiece. This anime is not for the squeamish! There is a lot of blood and violence in some parts. Think of it as a sort of Elfen Lied almost..but I actually like Higurashi a bit more.
This is also not a show for stupid people! (*probably killed for that comment*) as you can see in the description on ANN it's psychological, therefore the show makes you really try and figure out what's going on.
The ending to this show is amazing. Please give it a try, I know you won't be disappointed.

So what are your thoughts on this short anime? Good? Bad? Too bloody for your wimpy little squeamish stomach? I myself found it very very good...I liked the action and drama..oh, except..
THAT GIRL! Yuka! I mean like in the middle of a crisis she'll be all OMG Kohta pay attention to me >=( *bitchslap*
That was the only bad part of the anime. XD
