Also go by the name JoshTigerheart (primarily in the Ambrosia Software community), I'm a roleplayer, writer, gamer, and college student. Perhaps I'm the best well known in the Ambrosia community, particularly the Escape Velocity Nova group, for my plug-ins such as Colosseum, my Close Combat Guide, my accomplishments, and my piloting ability.

I run my own roleplaying webboard if anyone is interested. Any genre, format, or whatever is allowed, you can create your own or join a pre-existing one. Also in the works in a big, main forum RP, in case that's your style. Suggestions on that are welcome.

For writing, I write primarily in my own universe that is a blend of sci-fi and fantasy. And, from what I've been told, it's a very well done blend. I'd have to agree, and blame 7 years of tweaking the universe. The rest of my stories are in other, random universes, some parodies of super heros. However, I do not write fan fiction, adult content, or rip-offs. If you want to see my work, as me.

Gaming, I play mostly Nintendo consoles (lately the Wii) and computer games, primarily on a Mac. Not much into the console/platform wars. All of them have their own merits, I just prefer the Wii/Mac.

And college...I'm not going to tell you where I'm going. Don't ask, you're not going to get an answer.

And since this is a paraody of an anime about children's card games, I don't play Yu-Go-Oh, but I do play Magic: The Gathering. I'm no pro, however, but I am good in the casual area.

Games as a result of Brawl?
(4 comments, posted 6 months ago by TwilightPhoenix)
Some of my opinions on whether games will be made as a result of characters being in Brawl. Take them with a grain of salt if you so choose, as the information contained within has no basis beyond my own thoughts and observation.

Note: this may contain spoilers.

Mario in 2D or 2.5D - Likely: Mario is, undeniably, Nintendo's biggest franchise. While it is certain Mario will be in more games past Brawl, a 2D or 2.5D isn't as clear. However, the addition of Mushroomy Kingdom might raise the demand. That, plus the success of New Super Mario Bros, gives Nintendo good reason to put Mario in side-scrolling action once more. Though I suspect it'll likely be a game on the DS or whatever is after it.

Mario in 3D - Certain: Galaxy fights with Zelda: OoT for the top spot of best game of all time. I have little doubt Mario with be platforming in 3D in the future. The question is, will we see it on the Wii or the next gen? With Galaxy early in the Wii's life, the possibility of the former is there, but the track record suggests we'll be waiting awhile yet.

Mario Kart - 100% Certain: I'm probably not going to get it right away,as Brawl will likely be keeping me preoccupied.

Yoshi Platformer - Very Likely: Probably will be on the portable, but between Melee and now, we've seen two Yoshi platformers I'm aware of: Topsy-Turvy (or Universal Gravitation) and Yoshi's Island DS. Hopefully we'll get one added to the Wii instead of the portable. I'm not a player of portable games generally and SNES Yoshi's Island was soooo long ago. So, all I can do is hope.

Wario Ware Inc. - Very Likely: Probably certain, but Wario Ware isn't a series I follow, so I don't know. The tease of microgames in Brawl might make some demand a new title, particularly fans. Though I do recall a Wario Ware game on the Wii released pretty early, so it may be awhile.

Donkey Kong - Certain: Hopefully it won't involve the Bongo Drums this time. Ugh, despite how much I like the series, I skipped all of DK's games last gen because of those stupid drums. I wasn't willing to shell out additional funds for a unique control just to play Jungle Beat. I'm not into rhythm games, so Konga was out of the question for me. Though, the question is, will we get a full, 3D adventure like DK 64? Or will it be 2.5D like Jungle Beat?

Classic Donkey Kong - Unlikely: The stage is annoying and unpopular to play on. Not exactly a good impression. Plus a thirty second limit on the demo doesn't help. I think there were some sequels on the portables, but I'm not sure how successful they are.

Zelda - Certain: The only real question is when? Will we see another Wii Zelda, building upon Twilight Princess and taking much more use of the Wii's capabilities? Or will we be forced to wait until the next generation? Or will the next game be one I miss because it's on the DS?

Metroid - Likely: The Prime series came to an end, but the hidden ending suggests there is more to come. Plus there's "Metroid Dread" rumored to be in development. The only reason I'm not certain on this is Metroid's absence during the 5th generation. Hopefully the next one will be Prime-esque. The two-dimensional ones ARE fun, but Prime introduced me to the series and, as a result, I've come to prefer it. Plus I miss not having the Scan Visor in the 2D games.

Kid Icarus - Likely: Here's where real speculation begins. Pit hasn't seen the light of day before now since the Gameboy waaaaay back in the 3rd generation. However, he seems to be quite a popular character in Brawl. There's a good chance this popularity could spill over to the creation of a new game, kind of like how Marth and Roy brought Fire Emblem to western shores. Let's hope Pit gets a revival, Nintendo could use a "new" series.

Ice Climber - Unlikely: I figured, if Ice Climbers were going to make a revival, they would have done it already due to Melee. Enter Brawl and they haven't. Not to mention they still don't seem to be that popular of characters. Could be wrong, due to limited Wifi playing experience, but the odds seem to be against them. However, the inclusion of the Ice Climber demo may change things...

Kirby - Certain: Sakurai created Kirby. Brawl indicates he is still making games. Put two and two together and the odds of a new Kirby game is pretty blatantly likely. Though Kirby is a series I pay little attention to, so one may already be in development and I'd never know it.

Robotic Operating Buddy - OH PLEASE NO!: Beyond the fact I utterly dislike ROB in this game and believe he doesn't deserve to be in it, as he wasn't even an actual character in his games, I seriously doubt ROB will get his own game due to Brawl. ROB seems to be unpopular in this game. I see people using Jigglypuff more often! You know, that pink ball nobody outside Japan likes. Let's face it, ROB was nothing more than a gimmick to make parents think the NES was a toy so they'd by it for their children, and everybody knows that now. The only people who'd be interested are the most hardcore ROB fans, and I've never heard of such a person.

Star Fox - Likely: Star Fox seems to be a series that's always a bit in the air, as the last two console games (not sure about Command) were developed by second parties. They seem to have sold well, but Nintendo has been rather quiet on a new Star Fox game. However, Wolf's inclusion in Brawl and the serious amount of popularity he's getting for his feral style and howl taunt increases those odds in my book. Not to mention suggests that he'll likely be playing some larger role to attract the new Wolf fans from Brawl. Though I still wanted Krystal in over him. Though I got two characters I wanted in (Diddy and Sonic), so I suppose I can't win 'em all.

Pokemon - Certain: Best selling non-bundled series? Pokemon Trainer and Lucario seeming to be popular characters? Yeah, I'll be surprised if we don't get a new Pokemon game. Rumors state that it'll likely be a remake of Gold and Silver, based on information uncovered within Diamond and Pearl when hacking the game, or at least based on the Johto region. Though if it's the former, that might be reason enough for me to get a DS. G/S/C was awesome. There's also the possibility of a 3D adventure, now that we've had Colosseum and Gale of Darkness, but I wouldn't count on those.

Pikmin - Likely: Olimar is an interesting character, and his presence might spur a Pikmin 3. The series, to my understanding, has done well for only two games. I've never played them, but they do sound pretty fun. Pikmin is the youngest series represented in Brawl, but I think it'll pull through and bring us a third game.

F-Zero - Uncertain: Simply put, I don't know enough about this series to even begin to speculate. Was there a GC game? I know there was a N64, but no clue on the GC. We'll just have to see.

Fire Emblem - Certain: Another series I don't follow. However, Marth and Roy brought the games to western shores, and no doubt Ike is helping things this time around, despite fighting for his friends. I'll be surprised if we don't get a new Fire Emblem game, even though I probably won't be playing it.

Mother/Earthbound - Likely: We only got Earthbound, aka Mother 2. However, Lucas joining the Brawl, and seemingly being a popular character (if just for PK Freeze and his up-smash) increases the chances Mother 3 will be coming out of Japan. I'll be a bit surprised if it doesn't. Additionally, it's possible Nintendo will translate the original Mother and put it on the virtual console, but not as likely.

Game and Watch - Uncertain: I don't think Mr. G&W did anything for the series when he was in Melee, probably because nobody other than my brother really liked him. Heck, he was one of the first rumored characters who was supposed to get the boot. I strongly doubt we'll get anything new, though a G&W Gallery might appear on the Virtual Console or DS.

Metal Gear - Possible: The question isn't whether Snake being in the game will cause new ones to be created, but rather will existing ones be ported to the Wii? Will we see MGS4 on the Nintendo? Snake's last visit was back on the Gamecube with Twin Snakes. A great game, but it just wasn't my genre. Anyways, I believe there's a chance we'll get some ports, or perhaps one of those "Wii-exclusive" versions of a game that tend to be disappointing "cough" Soul Caliber Legends "cough".

Sonic - 100% Certain: Bioware is making a Sonic RPG, so we know a new Sonic game is coming. But will there be a new Sonic platformer? Ignoring Sonic and Knuckles coming sometime in the future to the Virtual Console, I'd say there's a good possibility based on Secret Rings' success alone. Plus people like using Sonic in this game, more so than Mario it seems. I'm willing to bet a new game improving on the Secret Rings game play formula is what we'll see next.

As for assist trophy inspired games... I'm NOT going to go there.
